I really need to watch Genshiken, don't I? ^_^;
I've heard about the series but it's never been at the top of my list of things to look up. Nobody ever talks about it the way people talk about Full Metal Alchemist or Gurren Lagaann... could it even be considered a sleeper hit? (was it ever a hit in any form?).

I have been watching the first season and its pretty good. I always enjoy anime that goes outside of the box and this one definitely does. It even gives insite to many Otakudum lore and other japanese traditions/culture. I definitely enjoy the series its especially funny for us that can relate who know people that dont understand our hobbies and interest when it comes to anime and things of this nature.

Genshiken=Awesome.

The OVAs are pretty funny too. I still need to knock out the second season, but I'd consider Genshiken (season 1) one of my Top 10 anime's of all time possibly.

I don't even know if this was a sleeper hit, but I'd say its held pretty high regards in cult status. It definitely feel like you're watching a bit of yourself when you watch this series. If you're in the collector/hobby scene, you'll certainly get a lot of what the show tries to implicate. LOL!
