There was a short release of this back in the late 90s / early 2000. The plastic was slightly cheaper and the sets lacked the same charm as the original ones. Most of the sets were new designs and none of them had the great painted box art.
You could probably pick up box of it for not a whole lot on ebay.

I totally remember Robotix. Definitely remember the commercials! I also remember my parents looking at me like I was crazy when I asked for them! LOL! I think they were kinda expensive for at the time weren't they?? Plus, I had my hands in way too many other toy pots. Tformers, MoTU, Super Powers, GI Joe...you know the usual suspects! I wouldn't mind trying to pick up a set now. Guess I consider it one of my lost (maybe never had) childhood memories!

My dad had a set of these, and would not let me play with them. The set he cost was over $100 back in the 80s. I remember a cockpit, and a trex head, but not too much else.

I was just gonna pull out my old videos of this show (and Spiral Zone) the other day to watch. I really liked this show.

Robotix was weird because the toy sets came out first and the show was like completely different! Actually, the good guys looked like the toys a bit because they were all white while the bad guys looked nothing like the toys because they... well they weren't white. The only exception was Tyranix the one with the T-Rex-looking head who later was actually released as a toy and was the only non-white one because he came molded in dark grey parts. And yes, they were pretty freaking expensive compared that other building toy... *ahem* Lego. Seriously, I remember I asked for a set and my parents traded in a bunch of "Club Z" points for it (Club Z was the old name of the HBC loyalty-system). The show on the other hand was one of the few shows that I religiously followed... I put up with Jem, Big Foot, and Inhumanoids while waiting for the 5-minute segment of Robotix during the Super-Saturdays block.

I've heard of them, and I've recently run into Robotix stuff on ebay during my browsings there on occasion. Try looking them up at ebay and see if you find anything; perhaps you'll find a killer deal on whatever Robotix item there is on sale there.

I remember the toys but they were definitely out of my budget and the parents weren't going to buy them for me either.
I don't remember the cartoon though. The narrator is the same voice for the G1 Transformers cartoon. Pretty cool!! Thanks for sharing!

I remember being fascinated by Robotix toys, but I never got one. Instead, I got a bunch of Legions of Power sets (which were probably on clearance). Not nearly as sophisticated as Robotix, but I most likely got more playtime out of them than I would have with any of the former. After building each machine as showed on their respective box, all the sets ended up in the same plastic basket. That's where the real fun began. Mixing all the parts to build insane war machines. Because as cool as that Star Wars AT-AT ripoff was, it never had enough machine guns. ;D
