Does anyone know if the Metal Build Seven Swords and the Metal Composite Gundam 0 are the same scale? I know both are labeled as 1/100 scale, but the Metal Build Seven Swords seem a tad smaller than the Gundam 0 metal composite.

I got both and they are somewhat the same in size. Im guessing since the 00 is a 2nd gen mobile suit, its going to be more sleeker..... thats why it looks a bit "different" IMO

Figure looks great! Anyone have theirs in hand yet? I was wondering if the joints were loose, etc. and if there were anything 'negative' to look out for before I plunk down my cash.

I got it and I must say most articulated and solid metal framed gundam yet!! Joints are very tight though I have yet to pose it with the large sword but its as articulated as the robot damashii versions (even more so since 00 was like the very first relase in the RD line).

Thank you for your insight as usual, MMJ!
Is there anything bad at all or anything you dislike about the figure?

Cedar.... honestly I messed with it for like 5-10 minutes..... so I guess I cant give a solid opinion but during that time i manipulated many a joint and the figure just felt so solid! I dont know how well he holds his weapons but attaching them to his armor every fit snug and parts werent popping off all over the place. He has a nice heft to him as well. I cant say how well he will hold poses with out the base but like I said he was very sturdy and the two poses I did due and sat him down he held well (this was with all weapons attached). the only concern I would have is the large sword. Many reviews show the figure needed an additional stand (which is inlcluded with the figure btw) so maybe he cant hold the weight of the sword in some instances (which sucks because the RD version doesnt have a problem at all) The finish is very good on the figure as well and a few metalic pieces too but. I also like how they colored the metalic frame as it is easily identifiable from the rest of the figure and adds to its finish. If there is one thing I could as for of this figure (thus far) is that he had more torso articulation so we can really get in that iconic pelvic thrust pose that we all love so much lol........ other than that...... no complants... YET lol

I've had mine for over a week, and I can honestly say that this is the best Gundam toy that I've ever had. As impressed as I was with the metal composite Unicorn, the metal build Gundam 00 blows it out of the water. The articulation is top notch, and the fit-and-finish is superb (but not perfect, since this is a mass-produced toy). Solid toy all around. As with any toy with a big sword, it's going to have difficulties holding a huge sword. Although the shoulder and elbow joints are tight enough, the wrist connections aren't tight enough to inhibit lateral movement. Having it grip the sword with both hands, though, is not a problem. No balance issues exist as the Gundam is heavy enough to act as counterweight to the huge sword. I've thought about applying a small dot of crazy glue on the wrist post to tighten the connection, but I've damaged way too many toys by trying to fix them.
I just ordered the grey metal composite Gundam 0 and once I receive it, I'll post a side-by-side pic of it with the metal build Gundam 00
I'm not much of a reviewer so I'll leave the write-up to the experts on the board (of which this board has plenty!)

You will probably be dissapointed by the MC Gundam 0. Its based off the RX-78 MC figures which have very limited articulation... finish is great but you wont be doing nothing like you can with unicorn and 00.
Youd think thye would do something to tighten the joints for the sword but I assumed that was going to be an issue.
Man I didnt realize that the 0 raiser came with all those trims and fixins........ arghhh must avoid temptation

Yeah, I know that the MC Gundam 0 is a step down, but I wanted a companion piece for the 00. The wrists on the metal build aren't really all that problematic; it can still handle the smaller swords without any difficulty. It's the big sword that's at issue. The only toy I can think of that really had any success handling a big sword was the SOC Daizengar (sp?). The wrists were ratcheted so they wouldn't swivel out of control, IIRC.
If anyone wants to pre-order the 00 Raiser accessory set, I think TokyoHunter's got it at 6500 yen, which is better than what I've seen at some other sites. Although, it may be a bit early to put down any money as another vendor might come in a bit cheaper.

The more I see this the more I want to buy this. How sturdy is the display stand? It looks like the attachment piece is clear plastic, are there any worries about this cracking under the weight of the figure or anything? Also, will any online stores carry the 00 Raiser or do I have to go through a proxy and order it through Tamashii Nations?

So is Metal Build for Gundam 00 suits only? If not, I'm betting we see RX-78 released as a Metal Build figure.

no prob and hope i was right.
I actually think metal build is poised to replace GFFMC line.. .. so all upcoming figures will be under the metal build moniker and sure to keep up the articulation....... wonder what will be the next figure

I just received the MB 00 Gundam Seven Swords figure and I must say that it's an impressive piece of work. I've only briefly handled the figure so far but I've been able to put it in a naturalistic kneeling pose, which is my personal test pose to gauge a figure's articulation ability. Many figures boast multiple points of articulation but we don't always see figures with what I view as "fully functional articulation". The MB 00GSS has points of articulation that allow it to be posed quite well. This alone makes the figure worth its high price in my eyes.
The figure is quite hefty due to possessing a fair amount of metal in its inner frame. The joints are tight, though I don't know how long they'll stay that way as they're mostly hinge joints and metal against metal in key structural points such as the ankles.
The accessories are plentiful, allowing one to pose the figure as either the stock 00 Gundam or as the Seven Swords variation. I haven't taken the accessories out of the trays to test them out yet but they look very nicely detailed.
I can't wait to have some more time to play around with the figure and fully assess its attributes!
