Thanks guys! Now that I've gone through the process once, I want to remake it with a few fixes...mainly round off the calf and forearm pieces instead of going with squarer versions I have now. Also want to add a ton of strapping to keep everything in check, and add in the shoulder balls Might do a Maz or Soundwave instead though...

You may want to consider scaling up your hands with thick red motorcycle gloves -Just a thought. Everything looked so amazing, but that caught me as one easy thing to fix.

Again, I gotta say that is one Badassiest Getter getup. Now, can you Getter-change into Getters 2, and 3? ...Oh, that would be such a bloody mess of massive contortions. ;D zozo-mag

Thanks guys And yea, if I had the time, I would have added a cape and bulked up the gloves. I literally painted it the day before Halloween, so it was tight getting it all done in time. Y'know...if I got motivated, I could probably make the entire suit reversible, so it could swap from getter 1 to getter 2 (sort of)....hmmmm

yea...I'm pretty sure it's doable...the getter 2 wouldn't be totally accurate, since the legs are so skinny, but the rest is pretty close. I'd just need to set up the joints in each body part so they could be undone, the foam flipped the other way, then reattached. The fins on the legs would fit inside the tubes for the getter 1's lower legs. Put the getter 2 paint job on the inside, and it should be a decent match. Even the chest piece is pretty close... only issues would be finding a place to store the heads (ie the less than anime accurate "trunk of my car" , and swapping the forearms. That being said, if I was going to take the time to make a getter 2, I'd want it separate, so it could stand up in my tv room, buuuuut, it is possible

^Hm...probalby couldn't even do a helmet for that. Even though the supplies are cheap, they are pretty time consuming to make...

The best product pieces are always the first ones made; and all other prototypes thereafter will never be as good as the first one. All the time and energy put into the project can be draining. Folks make stuff like this, because they enjoy it as an outlet for their artistic expression, and their passion for the hobby shows in the final product. There's no pressure nor influence from the outside world, therefore the time you take with a project feels comfortable and you can plan as you go so you can get it done right the first time and enjoy the sheer perfectionist beauty of it. If you make something to make more of it to meet a popular demand, then it becomes a job and you end up doing it because you no longer Want to but now you HAVE to... especially when someone is willing to pay for it. I apply that philosophical viewpoint to any artistic medium, whether you're making custom toys, or recording your own CD or Video, knitting yourself a cashmere jockstrap, or even writing a book, Anything creative in life. zozo-Mag

Yea, i didn't use an existing pepakura/papercraft pattern for the helmet, so it's not just a paint-by-numbers type project, and a lot of the pieces are adjusted and recut after I made my initial designs, so the finished product doesn't even match the pattern I made up.
Would love to see other people give this a shot though:) I have a blast doing it, and people flip when they see the costume in person, so it'd be great to see more of these masks out there...espeically with some interesting characters. There are a million Halo and Iron Man masks being made on the different prop forums, but very few (ie, zero) super robots.

magengar, you hit it right on the head: I've had a few friends try to commission me to make them, and I thought it over at first, but I do this as as hobby to get away from work...making it into work would defeat the whole purpose
