Is Perceptor! I've just recently bought one loose, but I'll be picking one of these up too.

Woo hoo! I just read about this, and I'm ecstatic! Like Predaking, I never had Perceptor when I was a kid in the G1 days, so this is wonderful news. Happy days are here again! ;D

I think now the best reissue would be Shockwave

Ah yes, that would be great. Only problem is, Takara didn't manufacture the original. Another company (now defunct I believe) called ToyCo produced it as Astro Magnum 4. Check it out here: www.robot-japan.com/Pages4/Toybox-Astro-Magnum.htmSo, sadly, it is unlikely we'll see a reissue of the original.

I think if Takara wants... can reissue all G1 transformers...
If takara made the Scorponok reissue... it will make also FORTRESS MAXIMUS? Why not...?

The reissues i'd really like to see are the G1 dinobots. They are awesome toys and assuming the moulds are still available somewhere they could get reissued. Most reissues have been the ex diaclone toys (like the dinobots). I imagine takara will reissue any half decent toys that they still have surviving moulds. I just got reissue blitzwing, again a diaclone (well I think it was going to be a diaclone??) and fantastic, the tank mode is so well hidden (as long as you dont look at the robots back or the jet underside) sturdy, metal parts and cool albeit immovable robot mode.

First Takara can only re-issue toys that they have the rights too, second they still need the molds to make the toys from. Figures like Shockwave, Omega Supreme, Sky Lynx, Trypticon, were all toys from other companies that Takara used with different colours as Transformers. Your likely to see figures that were both Diaclones and Transformers.
But I do agree that they should re-issue the Dinobots, maybe in a gift set like Predaking so you could buy them all at once.

luckily for us I think most TF's are takara properties yes? Many gen 1 were diaclones and microman microchange series and I suspect most of the later gen 1 figures were takara designs. Hopefully the dinobot moulds survive, they have to be some of the coolest TF's ever. fun looking beastmode and cool armour plated robots.

I dont' think Trypticon is a non-Takara invention... I mean, how else to explain that he (along with Metroplex) have hook-up ports for the Scramble City team leaders, which have been documented to be unused Diaclone designs? Personally, I'd love to see some reissued Dinobots, especially Grimlock. He's always been a fan favourite amongst -- well, everybody!

Perceptor it's cool. I don't think Takara could reissue ALL the transformers. For example, what's the deal with Jetfire? I don't think we will see a reissue for this figure.

what's the deal with Jetfire? I don't think we will see a reissue for this figure. Jetfire is in the same boat as Shockwave, Skylinx, Whirl, Omega Supreme etc. As Chen stated Takara never owned these moulds, they were used under license from other toy manufacturers. In Jetfires case it was Bandai. These licenses have since expired, so this makes it very unlikely that these Transformers will ever be re-issued.

Trypticon is definitely a Takara creation. He was rereleased with a slight remold in the Beast Wars Neo line a few years back.

If you want Jetfire, just purchase the bandai 1/55 reissues. The Roy Fokker VF-1S Skull Leader is the original mold for Jetfire, just in slightly different colors, and with a less child-safe nose cone. You can get it MIB for roughly $40-$60. If you want the version with the extra armor on it (like Jetfire had), get the Strike Valkyrie version, which sells for $80-$120.
And, for the record, here are the only G1 Transformers that were not Takara designs:
Whirl Roadbuster The Deluxe Insecticons SkyLinx Omega Supreme Shockwave Jetfire
I believe that's all of them.

I recall that the Minispies they were originally from the Mecha Warriors line. Was that from Takara? toyworks

what's the name of the pretransformers toys ''omega supreme''? Mechabot 1 (or sometimes called "Mech-Bot 1"). There are many knock off versions, so be careful if looking for the original: 1500bc.com/pretf/mechabot.html

Just to muddy the water...
The UK version (still a genuine Toybox item, not a KO) of Omega Supreme (with red highlights instead of yellow) was called 'Omegatron'.
There were other Convertors toys as well - some of which were reboxed Diaclones, like Cosmo Roller - and all of which were genuine OE items...
