No more Hasbro reissues

Joshbot of the TFW2005 boards emailed Hasbro regarding the future of the Hasbro G1 reissues and this was their reply

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc.

The are no plans for additional Generation 1 reissues at this time.

We appreciate your interest.

That's a shame, I was really looking forward to the previously rumored US reissue of the grey Astrotrain too.

I'm just concerned as to how this will affect Takara's reissues. As I've argued in previous threads, Takara recieves a generous sum from Hasbro for use of their moulds, which therefore may strongly affect their decisions regarding reissues. On the one hand, I'm concerned that Takara will either stop doing reissues or stop taking such expensive leaps (like Predaking) if it knows it won't see Hasbro dollars for such a venture.

On the other hand, I wonder if it might make Takara more bold, no longer concentrating on producing reissues that fall within a certain price range for Hasbro's US sales. Maybe this will finally give them the freedom to try even bigger projects (Overlord, Fortress Maximus, Metroplex, Scorpanok, etc).
