I finished Arkham Asylum not too long ago and it does not disappoint. Really interested to see what Rocksteady can dish out for Arkham City.

I'm cautiously optimistic. In the last year thanks to friends talking up a bunch of older games, I completed both Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and The Force Unleashed. Both are great (although, comparing the two are difficult since Uncharted just blows everything else out of the water and unfortunately makes The Force Unleashed seem dreadfully average.
Then I started the sequels: Uncharted 2 took everything right about the previous game and made it even more awesome. And The Force Unleashed 2 well... it's actually pretty bad. The pacing is all off - I played the first mission, then went onto the second where it feels like one-boss fight after another with long-stretches of repeated grunt enemies in between... ugh, they dropped the ball.
On the up side of Arkham City - at least they're taking their time with it so we know it shouldn't be a rush job. But I'll definitely wait for the reviews to roll in first.

Arkham Asylum was great. This looks like it's going to be pretty awesome as well. Trailer was quite breathtaking!

Don't forget, DC is publishing a tie-in mini-series comic. #2 comes out tomorrow, iirc. Check your local comic book stores! (I read the first one and it's pretty good).

Saw the Arkham City Catwoman trailer. Kissing is apparently part of her combo.

Not sure if the extra costumes are confirmed. I like the 1970's (Neal Adams) and Dark Knight Returns (Frank Miller) costumes. The former has the superhero look and the latter is the most intimidating of the six costumes shown. The Earth One (Gary Frank) costume looks too similar to Batman's current costume. Robin / Tim Drake is confirmed along with an extra costume (Red Robin). It's rumored that he'll only be playable in the challenge maps.

I love the cartoony "The Animated Series" costume... except the proportions are not quite exaggerated enough. I find it interesting that they were able to smooth down his muscle-tone to make it cartoon-like and that they were able widen the frame a lot to make the Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns model... but why didn't they slim down the Batman Beyond model? I don't remember him being so cut!

Playing it now, great so far. Just don't forget to download the Catwoman DLC before starting a new game.

Finally got around to trying this. It's everything I hoped it would be. Plus I got it at Best Buy so I'm supposed to have the Robin challenge maps (but I guess I need to unlock it in-game or something because I don't see it in the main menu). Did the challenge maps only become accessible after finishing the mail story mode in Arkham Asylum? I can't remember... And I'm still not too sure about all these side-quests people are talking about... because so far after about 2 hours of playing, I've only found 2 - I encountered my first Riddler trophy (which I can't get to yet) and something about WayneTech training, which I didn't try doing yet, but I think I'll get to after this next mission is completed... But I remember hearing that you also need to get clues from Riddler informants... which I assume are the thugs dressed in green... but I've already beaten up like 3 or 4 of them. Did I accidentally miss something? Hmm. Edit: Nevermind, I just discovered that if I back out far enough to the main menu, the challenges are unlocked. And there's my Robin DLC. But for the life of me, I don't know what I'm doing in those challenges. There are 3 special moves I need to do to earn the trophy but they don't actually tell you how they are performed, they just give you names like Do a Shield-Bash through a window, etc.

But for the life of me, I don't know what I'm doing in those challenges. There are 3 special moves I need to do to earn the trophy but they don't actually tell you how they are performed, they just give you names like Do a Shield-Bash through a window, etc. Beat up everyone except the riddler goons (they will be glowing green, with or without detective mode), there's an introduction sequence in a later part of the game telling you how to identify the goon, you can't locate the goons until then. The same goes for riddles. Some riddles won't be solvable until the "goon" sequence is over. Find him, beat up everybody near him and then there will be a prompt to "interrogate" the goon only if he's the last man standing. I think I've beaten up more than 20 goons so far as each will only give a few riddle and trophy locations each time. I think they respawn elsewhere though if you accidentally knock em out. The trophies are harder to get now, some require you to step on pressure pads, others you need to batarang the question marks in a specific order, the rest you will need newer gadgets as the game progresses. The hardest IMHo is using the remote controlled batarangs thru airducts to hit the question marks. You also have to use grapple to grab/reach some of the trophies. The Waynetech training is also a bit of a pain. You have to glide through the checkpoints. Dive bombing is required for some targets (dive and then pull up, there will be a draft of sorts to make Batman ascend upwards after the dive). Completing a few of the trainings will unlock the grapple boost upgrade, you will need this to complete the Zsasz "get to the ringing phone" side missions. The good news is you don't have to complete all trainings, once you unlock the upgrade that's it, the last 3 are harder to do and grant no extra reward except for a trophy Gold
