Wow great info, very well done, that was very useful information. I actually like the darker blue of the SG-01, but obviously like the painted rim eye's of the Godaikin version better, a bit more detail perhaps....
I would be blown away and fortunate to ever acquire a nice example of either....
I also liked the section about the Crest, and the historical reference to the Roman helmets, as I am a huge history fan....
Not to jump to far off tracks like I commonly do, but that is one thing that I really like about Big Tet 28 and Godmarz. Majin Sphinx and Majin Rai, so much Egyptian history present in that design which dates back many thousands of years. Rai the sun God, you gotta love that, those are two of my top favorites in the small five combiner designs....

I have a Godaikin that is all dark blue and has the eyes painted out. My Popy version is a bit lighter blue and has eyes painted out as well. Odd. No rhyme or reason to it I guess...

Cool. Yes, I don't think that there will be a POSITIVE way to I.D. the toys...other than the painted eye mask. Be sure to write down the serial numbers on the box back.
Thx Erik!

Kitsir, I have one of these as well. It's just a bit bigger than the GB-24 head and all diecast. Mine is already metalic blue originally. I'll post pics of mine when I get back to SF.

I haven't looked at mine in a long time, but if I recall there is a hole on the bottom. I think it's supposed to be a pencil topper. Hmmm...

Excellent writeup Ed!
Btw, can anyone confirm whether both the popy and godaikin versions contain the exact number of accessories? Thanks.

Excellent writeup Ed! Btw, can anyone confirm whether both the popy and godaikin versions contain the exact number of accessories? Thanks. They do other than the catalog (different printing). I've also noted that the Japanese toys arrived (to me at least) with cardboard retaining "spacers". That is why the styrafoam has slits in it. -Don't recall seeing those in the Godaikins. Bandai America missed that boat..... Ed

Thanks Ed. But i do noticed a slight issue with the godaikin release, well, at least with mine. The pictures of the tetsujin and accessories on the box itself shows that there is only one robo boy and one maintenance robot, which is exactly what i got with my boxset, however, on some pictures i see over the internet, there's actually more than one of each! So i was wondering i was getting less than what i bargained for.

This thread just reminded me that I still owe Kitsir those shots of the T28 head. I'll shoot them when I get back to SF tomorrow.
