What toys used to be considered rare, but are no longer considered such?
When I first started collecting, Getter 3 used to be considered rare and very costly. It seems to me that this is much more common now.
Can you think of others?

In my brief time collecting vintage toys, it has to be voltes v! When I started gokhin toys collecting in early 2008, I remember any complete godaikin voltes v specimen are prohibitive high, usually closes above 2k USD on eBay, and most of them are not mint condition! And only after the financial down turn after mid to end 2008 did prices came down, and only super mint pieces( read brand new) these days command similar price levels.
Oh, there was another one that stick out in my memory, is the popy combattra in box, One listing in eBay was asking 16k for it, not sure if it was over priced, but I never seem it on offer on eBay again.

How about when Takatoku VF-1J's went for $750. That was a weird time.
You could by vintage Popys and Godaikins for alot less......about Year 2000.

hmmm I would say Godaikin Combattra for a while it was hard to find one in a box when they used to be $1200-$2000+, and now when it used to be between I do see one at least once a month priced between $500-$1250

I've got one that wasn't rare but seems to be TOTALLY RARE and expensive now. Repro Popy Grendizer Jumbo boxes. They were like $85 last week from Kitsir and now they go for like $650USD on ebay.... The MARKET!! ;-)

Ed, I totally agree about the TT Valks! In the late 90s early 2Ks one would pay $700 EASY for a Myria or a Max right? Dude, you can get one for under 10K Yen on YJP MIMB on a good day. Crazy!

TEH Market.....spell it correctly for our friends. LOL.
I recall that G1 Transformers, used, were pushing $500 each. Not only were they horded and mass produced, but they've been reissued. Times have changed.
-How about Spawn figures. LOL

I remember the whole valk thing too. The Super Valk set would sometimes sell for around 3k.
For a brief moment Dygenguar and Granzon Dengeki SRW figures were selling for a solid 500 dollars. Currently they sell for $80 on a good day, and some of the Dengeki figures have practically no demand now as Bandai's SRC series has opened up future possibilities.
Certain Zoids had crazy prices around 2004-05. Even though some of these sets are still quite rare, re-issues and lowered demand has made the market substantially lower.

P.S. How about some of the reissued vinyl toys. Ed D you mean B-Club reissues of original Bullmark Kaiju? If so, I think they drove the prices down a wee bit, but the originals still command some bank.
