So, I used my Jan ebay bucks to buy one of those little 5 inch sets which breaks down into five vehicles, the gashapon's I believe they are called? I noticed the dealer I got it from powerrangers08 something or another out of Asia, sells many of these little sets, at what seems like good prices to me anyhow. I got his Voltes V set brand new still in bags, and it was 57 total shipping an all, but that is what my ebay bucks were so I figured it was fate for me to acquire it. He has a semi used little Combattler for 34 total, and I just about grabbed it to, I love the V bots.... Any of you collect these litte guys, and do they have any diecast, or are they all pvc? Either way, seesm like neat thing to collect with the main sets, as I can afford to get some of these diff 4 an 5 item sets, and add some small examples of bots I don't own.... Probably not much cash to be made with those little guys, but wished someone sold them in USA, and had access to a good wholesale deal on them, where they could make 10 or so on a set, say sell for 60 total perhaps on some of the bigger ones like Voltes V.... I can't afford a big Volte anytime soon, so thought this would be nice addition for now, any thoughts on collecting these guys?

Some of the other Gashapon figures in this series did have minimal amounts of diecast (legs), but not these combiners. I don't have the Voltes set, but my Combattler set is kind of warped. And its a pain in the arse to get the parts to stay on in vehicle modes. Still, I'm glad they released these.

If you want diecast, and a halfway reasonable price, get the The Chogokin releases. They don't Volt in or anything, but they do form the tank mode and are perfect representations of the vintage ST figures. No warping will occur.

Thanks Sketcher, I have looked at that exact model, and like it alot, minus not breaking down to V of course. One came up recently, starting bid 180, so with shipping about 200, and it seems like everytime I find it, that is roughly the price range, perhaps 150-200, a bit high I am sure. If I could find him nice for 100 total, I probably would consider that buy....

Kev I think you may be seeing the actual ST vintage release listings. THE Chogokin lineup (the "THE" is part of the lines title, we have a thread around somere's) look identical to those vintage ST's but slightly smaller, which you can't tell by pix, and go for $10-$45 depending on the model. GT-00 thru maybe GT-10? Where's that darn thread? ahaha
Oh, and Ben has a nice little review of that gashapon combiner set on CollectionDX. Cool little set. I'm sure I've even seen some guys sell little miniature repro DX Volt-In-Box boxes to put the 5 piece set into one tiny suitcase box.
