Forgive me if I am posting this, and there is probably no doubt a book worth of posted info on this beast which I have not read yet I am sure.... Plus I am sure good chance some of you have one of these, and could give me some great info about him.... First off, he is packin some serious fire power lol, and I like that gal painted on the lower cockpit looks nice, which reminds me of all the great art work on the Bombers and other planes from World War II. Also, that ship mode reminds me of that drop ship from the movie "Aliens", the second one which was the best one IMO, with all the space marines. Something about that design of that drop ship just looks really cool, and appears like it would be a practical design perhaps in a future setting.... I mentioned in another post or two about getting that Danguard Ace plated version, and that is what I really like about him and this Konig monster, their ship modes.... I understand this Konig is pretty large eh in robot mode, curious how tall in inches?

OK, am I crazy or does the nose of the Yamato version look completely different from the new Bandai version in shuttle mode? I'm talking about the comparison photo that fellow posted near the end of the review...

I think you are dead on Ben, as I also recall seeing an auction for one of the older models from Texas recently, and the seller kept pointing out that the new Bandai version is also smaller in size than the other, so I imagine there are a few suttle differences....
That was a great review there, thansk f=very informative....

Yeah, that's a great site for these types of toys. I always really dug the chunkiness of the vintage Koenig Monster.

Is the Yamato version based purely on the Monster's appearance in the VFX game series? I don't think Macross F was out when that one was released... The reason I ask is because the only other Monster we've seen is the non-transforming one from Macross Zero and classic SDF Macross. And the only line-art I've seen of VB-6 specifically, it looks right (the review says they "took liberties with the line-art" - whatever it is, I can't tell. But in his Yamato comparison pic at the bottom, the nose looks practically UPSIDE-DOWN in shape. Weird. Was the nose like that in VFX2? Or did VB-6 show up elsewhere looking like that I'm not aware of?
Hmm... mystery...

Yes, the Yamato was based off of the VFX game appearance. The VB-6 was modified in appearance when it showed up in Macross Frontier - stubbier cannon barrels, tweaked proportions, and the like.

Yeah the Yamato version looks weird from the side almost boat like.

I think it would look a bit better in an army green color, instead of that baige/brown color, but hey I am nick picking over nothing of importance again, and I would be happy to have one and putting him on my list to get....

The Yamato Monster from anymoon is misstransformed. The nose is very weird. Both of them are impressive figures but I must recomend Bandai's version. Anyway, remember that Yamato only had a few sketches to make the Monster and Bandai had a fully 3D design. Yamato did a great job making the Monster. Oh! and believe it or not the Yamato version is more stable in battroid mode. I have some comparative pics.

Thanks guys! Wonder if they made a 1/60th scale version of this thing. Now that would be huge!
