This is a metal transforming robot. No date. The only word in English is on the back. It says Japan. There's Japanese writing on the back as well. The arms are spring loaded and the hands were supposed to shoot out. They're gone. Also it may have had more pieces. Any information is appreciated. Attachments:

Welcome to RJ, bro!
That is the super robot Daitarn 3, and it looks like it was made by Popy.
I could be wrong about the manufacturer....
...Vets, please help. Thanks.

Welcome Jones! It is indeed Daitarn 3, but if it says "Japan" on the back, then it's likely made by CLOVER. Look for a little actual symbol of a clover leaf on the back where the writing is. Search the vintage threads, and main Gallery pages on the R-J homepage for more info. There is also, most commonly found at auction, an English language box set, licensed by Sunrise, but made in Taiwan. Chachipower knows a thing or two of these.

Yup. There's a clover amongst the Japanese characters.
It's plastic and die cast. Heavy item!
