Has anyone else wondered why no company has produced a transforming Valkyrie II (from the Macross II movie) figure? All I have is the Imai model kit which is pretty rare I think. I really like the design of this mecha (although the movie wasn't so great). I wonder if Yamato will eventually come around to producing this one. I can only hope.

Many of us want a VF-2SS and a VF-2JA toy. I hope they are made at some point.

Kawamori is pretty much hands on with the designs for the Macross Valkyries that Yamato handles.
He's does not have any kind of affinity for the Macross II Valkyrie Designs, so its unlikely that we'll see any 1/60 or 1/48 VF-2x toys anytime soon.

Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! That's too bad, I was hoping someone would make one. Yamato would be the perfect candidate to do so thought........oh well.

The fact that the Movie sucked eggs may rekindle the nightmares thereof................great design though.

Personally, the movie is an acquired taste. For me it isn't 'that' bad, but not good either, fairly enjoyable, plus great designs on the mecha. I's like a VF-2SS w/ SAP attachment like everyone else but the hory froating head feels otherwise.

The armored (SAP) version of the Valkyrie II is just so cool. My Imai model is in this armored form. I'll be disappointed if this never shows up in toy form. www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/macross.htm

The only problem I have with Mac2 is the one serious one that ruins the whole experience for me: the is practically a rehash of the original Macross. (ok, so the story is a little tweaked but still...)

i actually liked that one better than MACROSS PLUS. but that's probably because its so similar to the original.

I, too, have the kit (which kicks). Love to see it in metal form.

To date Kawamori has never admitted to have ever seen Macross II, so whether he likes the VF-2SS design is unknown.
He chooses not to comment on a show he has never seen (kinda convenient if you ask me..)

Yeah Macross II wasn't so special in my opinion. Nice animation but the spin-off/alternate universe thing just doesn't cut it.
Nice mechs though.
