In December I purchased a VF-1S Roy Fokker Do You Remember Love on eBay. The seller thought that the shoulders were golden. When I got it and tried transforming it, the hinge was splitting in half as I moved it. It did it for both shoulders. The seller was cool as heck as he partially refunded AND found me a resource to get the replacement parts.
I got the shoulders last Wednesday. It costs about $15 for the set shipped (SAL, no other choice) from HLJ.com. If you need this, just email parts@HLJ.com and tell them your HLJ account name, the description of the part. They will then contact Yamato for you and get back to you with a payment request. SAL sucks, it took 3 weeks. I hope there replacements are better than the original.
By the way, HLJ is kind of loony has they shipped it in a container that is about the size of a cell phone box. The two shoulder joints are about the size of two quarters. So you will get a big box, but it is full of packing crap, in fact you can see the original Yamato box they sent HLJ, inside the HLJ box. The shipping, albeit it is SAL and SAL only, was more than the price of the shoulders, I think the safe shipping and getting the shoulders are worth the money.

Take pics of the fix if you can, I might consider getting some if I feel it's worth it. But honestly I just like the look of fighter mode better, to my eyes there's just something off with robot mode which I can't seem to figure out.

Ever since I heard of someone getting replacement hinges from HLJ I've been meaning to contact them myself to get replacements for my VF-1A (cracked on both sides ). Thanks for making the whole process crystal clear

Chen, I will once I get time off of my Gunpla to repair. I know what you mean, but I think all Macross looks better in fighter mode. Case in point: Macross 7: VF-19's the Bandai (not boot) are decent as fighters, but looks like a hunk of plastic in battroid. With the yams, it could be the chicken hands...
Quin, it was fairly painless, except the first guy that answered my email was like retarded or something (lol) because he wanted the part numbers and stuff. I just wrote him back and explained that it is the part that EVERYONE is ordering. LOL and that worked.
