For five years, I’ve seen several Mach Baron Machinders listed on Yahoo Japan but I could never seem to get my hands on one. I either lost out on the bid or missed the auction or it was way beyond my budget or the piece wasn’t up to my standard. Sounds familiar? Will I ever get my hands on one? Then my wish finally came true last year when I managed to outbid several others for this big beautiful bot. Hallelujah!!!!! Now the story doesn’t end there. Some of my friends here know I am passionate about making the piece my own. By that, I mean restoring and repainting it. I envisioned my sun faded, salmon colored, Mach Baron looking new again. The other part of it was I wanted to make him look like the Mach I know from the Tokusatsu TV series. With a bit of planning and two days of priming, taping, and painting, he turned out better than I had dreamed. Then with some help from my friend, Kitsir, I was able to secure some new missiles, a bejeweled diamond for his forehead, and two custom red star stickers (at my request) for his belt. Speaking of belt, I was happy with the result of painting it silver to match the live action Mach’s belt. Around the same time, I picked up a repro Mach Trigger from my friend Mike DeCo. It was a team effort and I couldn’t have completed this project without their help. I am ecstatic by how my custom Takusatsu Mach Baron turned out and I hope you agree he looks pretty sharp. It was definitely worth the five years wait! ___________________________________________________________________________ Interested in all things Mach Baron? Abso-stunningly beautiful man! Love it. The paint looks top notch...the silver really makes it stand out. This is one of the JM's I have always wished I could get since the 1st time I saw it...but from the sounds of it and my limited fundage I should just move on...
Thank you for sharing. He is great. And thanks to everyone whom contributed to making it such a stunning piece to display.
