A quick post teaser for the moment. Am working on a Space Valour to Battle Fever part upgrade molds.
A big thanks to Eyeone for letting me borrow his Battle Fever torso and head. I was going to just mold the head and the "BF" area of the chest. But, the Battle Fever torso is much cooler than the Space Valour, so I decided to make a mold of the torso.
So, maybe by this weekend I will have some photos of an ultra rare SPACE FEVER jumbo to show off.

I did get to some of the Space Fever project. Yard work kept me busy this weekend. 30s and snow last weekend and upper 70s this weekend. Started a web page for the progress: www.teambac.com/shogun_warriors/Space_Fever.htmlI need to make a mold of the arm/leg nut for needed extras. And looks like I may have put an elbow bolt in the left knew

It's really a cool idea. But now I will have to find another Space Valour to customize it with your great parts... Can't wait to see more if it.

Mr bourno, Cant wait ...do post many pics for me as BFJ is one of my favourite. xoxo doe I will see what I can do for taking and adding more photos on future updates. Battle Fever is much cooler than the Space Valour and I think with the upgrade will allow it to be presentable to the other guys. I am debating about changing the sleeves to the T28 style as I just made a mold for that sleeve. May have to lengthen the shooting insert from just comparing BFJ and SV photos.

Bourno..... in that pic attachment shown, I'm looking at what appears to be a translucent or transparent jelly around the object inside the clay bed... ...is that jelly a translucent silicone mold? I like to use the Alumilite pink silicone mold rubber, but I'd like to try using the tanslucent rubber mold stuff so that I can see what I'm doing as I work on the object. I think I'll try switching to the clear silicone rubber and see if it will work for me........ My idea is to try making a two-part mold by pouring the rubber over the entire object, and cutting the cured mold away from the object without damaging either one. Yes, it's very tricky to do; but I think I can handle it. zozo-mag

For my molds, I use Smooth-On's Sorta Clear 40, which is a platinum silicone and is translucent for seeing through. After awhile, it does get less clear and more whitish. I like the tear strength of the silicone and is great when pouring to see if you have any trapped air bubbles and can use a tooth pick or similar to coax the bubbles away.
They have a "T" series as well, for Tin cure. While a little cheaper, it isn't as clear as the platinum series.
I use their silicone thinner and a vacuum pump the mixture for about 20 to 30 minutes to get the trapped air out of the stirred up silicone. I like to mix the silicone in a bowl and then pour into individual 18oz cups about 1/3 to 1/2 full for vacuuming. Makes things easier to pour, and can scrape the cups out at the end after getting the part initially covered.
I like this silicone for many of my molds that I hand rotocast to make sure I didn't miss a spot while first rotating, and with the 65D resin, I can see when it is starting to cure and can get another batch of resin ready to pour in. Some of my molds, I like to add a second layer for more strength.

Amazing technique. I've never hand-rote cast before. To work work with any clear silicone mold and be able to see what I'm doing, would certainly help me achieve better-quality castings; especially for getting rid of trapped air from the mold and the castings. Thanks, Bourno! zozo-mag

A little more done today. Changed out the arm sleeves to T28 style. They aren't exactly like the original Battle Fever, but somewhat closer in look. May have the torso shooter ready in a day or so. Then, just need to work on some head painting and call it good till I add stickers to it.

Thought I would toss up some work I have done on recently received Tetsujin 28. It came with a couple reproduction parts, and I made some hollow versions of them to place on the jumbo. Am working on a new helmet piece. That should be done in few days and can put on some new stickers at that point. Here is my web page with more photos and coverage on it. www.teambac.com/shogun_warriors/Tetsujin_28.html

That T28 is just a damn fine looking Jumbo. Great work on the reproduction & spot on color matching. Don't know how you do it so accurately!
