I have a little reservation about the character design... Is Bandai lowering the legal age to pilot Gundams again? I enjoyed the premise of Gundam 00 and SEED Destiny where the pilots are professionals, even SEED Destiny turned into crap near the end of the series. However, I'll reserve judgement until further news are available or I see the anime in motion. EDIT: the grandfather, father and son pilot scheme seems to be more suitable for super robot shows as well

I Take it for the Adults Fans, Unicorn Gundam will keep em occupied even though it takes months to release an episode

gundamguy.blogspot.com/ oh no...looks like Bandai is about to kill off Gundam. It's going to the kids, and that's why it disappeared in the USA, that stupid SD Gundam series (although I also believe the Battle Damage Gundams killed it too)

I think people are freaking out about this more than necessary. This isn't the next Superior Defender, and its not the first time we've had such young characters in a Gundam Series. Yes, it is a little disappointing that we aren't getting a new more mature series, but the story is being written by Level-5 and I have faith in them to create a great story. I think the concept of following three generations of characters is pretty cool and honestly, you really can't beat how bad the gundam seed/destiny years were.

Well said. hmm did level -5 do eureaka 7?? that was a good series with young kids as the stars (hell the majority of anime stars kids in their early teens) Level-5 has largely been a developer of video games. Some key properties have been the Professor Layton DS games and White Knight Chronicles for PS3. Another great point though. Uso Ebbing from MS Victory Gundam comes to mind as a young lead MS pilot. Here's the awaited preview for those that haven't yet seen. Just some impressions.....I'm diggin' what I see so far. Really interested to see how the story fleshes out here. Getting sort of a GaoGaiGar feel on some of the character designs (which is IMHO a cool thing). The mecha designs are definitely growing on me and the animation quality looks solid so far. I know the fact that this has a younger cast of leads will turn some folks off, but I have to say that's never been a distraction for me. I'm Moderately excited here.

Is it just me or does their 'white base' seem like its going to transform into a giant gundam? Best toy ever if it does.

Animation is top notch. The better the animation, the harder it is to watch some of the older stuff. I mean, I find myself watching the Seed and Seed Destiny series again and it just look so unrefined. I am really liking the animation style in this new AGE series.

Looks good. Is it in an alternate timeline series (not UC)? It looks that way to me.

These designs looks sort of meh to me, or not very striking anyway. The Gafran looks interesting but still looks like it needed to be refined. But I would still like it to do well I suppose.

Since the body parts are detachable from the figures, and the colors are compatible(so far, not as much), then it might be fun as toys. I haven't seen toys for Gundam in a long while, it's always Model Kits.
