Just watch an Episode 1 of this new anime and so far so good. It's aimed more for children so I can understand that there will be some that don't like it. Anyway, last Wednesday, my HG Gundam kits from HLJ arrived and among the order was one of these. This was one of the more satisfying builds that I have gotten in awhile. Last kit I built prior to this was the RG Char's Zaku II and that one kinda burned me out. Just too much time spent on detailing it and I still haven't finished applying the stickers on the weapons for that kit. Anyway, this HG was really simple, only 3 main plates and one polycap plate. The articulation is pretty good and the only faulty part this one has is that the mid section seems to separate a little to easily. Aside from that it is really good. Forgot to do that's kneeling pose, but here is a flight pose that everyone is familiar with. Among other things that I got in my order, and I spent pretty much all of yesterday fiddling and completing, was this.

I'm liking the Jesta a lot myself. The build was also good. I paced myself and got it done in a little more than 5 hours, not counting the detailing or the time I spent on the head. Look closely and you will see a extra Green foil Sticker and a orange foil sticker that was custom cut out from the excess left over sticker sheet. If there is anything that I've learn from building the RG Rx-78-2, Nub marks can easily be hidden with Decals. So I am going to buy a sheet of water slide decals to place over them nub/sprue marks. Much easier than sanding and repainting it.

Having sat on this a bit, I find I don't mind the young cast all that much. But I do mind that some of the adults are drawn really cartoony and this just looks odd when those characters are standing next to the more traditionally-drawn military-looking people... I say, they should've gone all the way (Gaogaigar comes to mind).
But the mecha are kind of cool - I like that techy-looking cluster in the chest - it's a design element we don't often see in Gundam (I think the last "chest window" we saw was in Gundam X?).

i'm totally tempted to get the kit. to buy and import it should cost $20, which USED to sound like a ton of money, but compared to Young Justice figures, not really. www.hlj.com/product/BAN971062I just watched the 3rd episode. I can't recall the last time I watched a Gundam Series...darn...I thought Masters of the Universe was going to be my THING this year, but I'm steering toward Gundam again. I may even build one of the kits i have on my shelf stacked the ceiling. And it's THIS guy's fault www.youtube.com/user/rrobbert184making me interested in Gundam again.

I watched the third episode yesterday, and it is still starting pretty slowly. The Age-1 Normal HG kit is definitely a good kit to get back into gunpla. It is really simple and quick build. Only 3 plates, plus one polycap plate. I'm also a fan of Rrobbert184 because he builds and reviews HG kits. I guess people can relate to his reviews and videos because he is essentially showing OOBB (out of Box Builds). For me anyway, seeing a pro that paints and mod their Gundam kit is kinda discouraging because I know that I don't have the same skill set or equipment to make it look like theirs. So rrobberts reviews is good in that I can see what to expect OOB. Personally, I perfer working on the 1/144 scale HG kit over MG kits for 2 reason. Reason 1, finished builds takes up less space. Reason 2, not as time comsuming build so you get gratification much faster. HG kit can be built in a couple of hours. Any additional time you want to spend detailing it is up to you.

What if the UE (Unknown Enemy) are kind of like the future humans from the TV series, The 4400? They time-traveled back to Flit's time to force humanity to advance technologically so it can better counter a threat in its future?

Well that's nothing new but interesting if that is the case but will a show geared towards kids really try to go there? Then again this is anime were talking bout here so yue answer is almost always yes lol.
I prefer mg over hg myself you get more detail and poseability. I find it easier to build MHD because of bigger pieces. More complex but you don't deal with as many minuscule parts as you do w 1/144. And if your comfortable building them you can finish in hood time too

I finally got my package from HLJ.com from Black Friday. One of the items is a 1/100 scale TOY of Age One Normal Gundam. www.hlj.com/product/BAN969424HE IS AWESOME!!! He's very sturdy, his arms come-off to replace with other arms, as in the anime. He's like the 1/100 Gundam Seed figures that were made in the USA just before Bandai quit making Gundam, and those 1/100 G-Gundam figures.

I just started watching the show, and I like it so far. Downloaded the first 28 episodes in a batch file. Also ordered a bunch of Robot Damashii AGE figures too! ;D
