Well SRC is good for you then! But as for me, I can afford SOC and they are not cheap plastic figures of robots I care absolutely nothing about. So both lines cater to different people.Sure if SRC came out with some robots I actually care about like the older ones,Id buy them all up,but after God Reideen the line took a turn for the worse, who cares about those super sentai modern boring robots?not me.If they put out SOC counterparts in the SRC line like they started to, Id buy both lines .But if they continue looking like Power Rangers miniature versions of robots I can get at Walmart,no thanks. As for bad SOCs fine dont buy those,I dont like every SOC either, just ones that fit into my area of robots with anime between 1972 and 1984.For the most part SOC is a good line, cant say that for SRC for me anyhow, the choices of robots suck. Come on, would we rather have a nice metal combining Daltanious,or Daioja or some corny modern looking bunch of cars stuck together like a cheap transformer you can get at the supermarket for 9$,like most SRCs are starting to look like. And then pay more for plastic blue waves to enhance the already plastic non interesting mechs. Sorry but anything good and interesting costs $$$,if it is made well I dont care what it costs.Id rather spend 300$ on a great toy, than 50 on junk. Surely not every one buys a complete line for the sake of the line, they buy ones they like.If all one cares about is saving money and would rather pay something they don't necessarily like, why even collect? This hobby is actually inexpensive for me compared to my last one ,I came from collecting German WW2 uniforms with 5 digit price tags, robots at 2-300$ are welcome for me,anything cool and collectible of any value people will pay for,and frankly anything pricey is coveted more, just the way it is.Everything is in perspective, diecast is always wanted before plastic, leather before cotton etc etc.If SOCs were really cheap and of less quality,or made of plastic, they wouldnt be as lusted after, !!It's all about what kind of collection you want and what you like. But I cant see trading quality for quantity.Just collect new transformers then if you want to save a buck. And that's great if your 14 with a paper route, but this hobby is'nt geared toward kids, its an adult hobby with adult prices.I dont want SOC to go away, and have to degrade myself to collecting 3 inch plastic robots that Im not interested in.Id rather just be happy with what I have and stare at them! There is a reason why SOCs arent in department store toy aisles, just like there is a reason why transformers are. They are geared toward different age groups.I just dont like the thought of me buying my collection from a supermarket, and if cheaper toys infiltrate this hobby, made of plastic only, and becomes a trend, would most of us keep collecting?I dont want to be grabbing for my Voltes at the same time as a 9 year old at the toys tore, sorry!! Its late and Im rambling, but hopefully Iv'e made some type of point..I think. Well, you're pretty new at collecting these things so I can understand... Couple of things that you should know: 1. All Soul of Chogokin figures ARE found on toy stores in Japan - ALL OF THEM! 2. A serious SOC collector would purchase every single release in the line, even if they do not like or care for the character. 3. You seem to be biased against anything that is not an SOC. However, you don't even own other stuff (SRCs, Transformers)? How can you even begin to compare anything to the SOC? By reading other peoples' posts? Bad choice... 4. There are many figures I do not like, Transformers, Sentai (Power Rangers) and Real Robots come to mind, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna go around posting that they are worthless pieces of crap, especially if I don't have them. Yeah, I may get dissapointed when my favorite characters don't get released in lieu of another, but that still doesn't make the stuff released worthless to others. 5. I'm happy for you that you have all this money to buy figures. I'll keep that in mind when I see a "wanted" post from you in the Sale and Trade section... ;D }D

I dont mean that at all sorry if I was a bit brash, what Im saying is I would buy characters if SRC had ones that were a bit more popular or within my collecting realm,I have the Mazinger and great mazinger and the god Reideen,so I do have things to compare too.It doesnt mean they suck if they are cheaper, just not as well made. And yes more top dollar items are better than lower priced ones, its why they cost more, not in every case but mostly.. And No I dont collect SOC for the Line as I had said and No I Im not a true SOC collector, never said so,if you read my post I collect between 1972-1984 robots if you looked at my collection you will see many plastic robots,of characters I LIKE!I have the plastic Mekanda robo, the Astro Robots, etc etc,I will buy plastic toys expensive or cheap if they are characters I like. The SRC line is just not for me,it doesnt suck, the characters they choose are pretty boring,to me anyhow. Its just the way it is,this is an expensive hobby. And by teh way Im 38 I had transformers when G1 came out my first was sideswipe, and Shoguns Im not AT ALL new to robot toys,I just left transformers in my childhood.Im sorry I think the choices in the SRC line stink, not the quality themselves necessarily, and not all SOCs are good either.Maybe I should rephrase,Im sorry i didnt mean to upset anyone, all Im saying is to each his own,I just hope Bandai continues making things we all like.

LOL I was responding to exactly that which is what you said above!haha, you said you dont care if SOCstops making robots and SRC continues, isnt that the same thing round about as your above statement haha.Just joking, sorry If I was a jerk,I apologize,I was amped up last night about something else excuse me guys ok?I like everyone here, and value all your opinions,Im very sorry If I came off wrong. BTW You seem to be the expert on Mazingers,What do you think are the top best Mazingers to buy? Besides SOC GX01R and SRC version?.Ive been looking at different ones.

Well, I'm here because I've been collecting the SOCs since the very first one came out in 1997, and because I can. And yes, I could care less if they stop making SOCs like I said. I'm feedup of 85% plastic figures that wield a hefty price tag just because they are under the SOC line. Bandai has come a long way since the first SOC combiner GX-03 Combattler to the present figures. They may have better engineering, but the Chogokin is becoming more rare with every release. Not that less diecast is a bad thing, but the price should come down as well, not keep climbing... Again you are putting down the SRC line, but you only have the two Mazingers and Reideen? No Alteisen, Dai Guard, GaoGaiGar, Dendoh??? Oh well to each its own. Oh, and the SRCs are way better made than the SOCs. Better articulation, excellent detail, great lineup. Their only negative against the comparable SOC (non-combiners) is that they do not have as much diecast. Their size is pretty good for display, and their accessories are excellent. BTW, the SHE figures are all resin (zero diecast), and they cost a hell of a lot more than the most expensive regularly released SOC. But, I digress... if you want to discuss the SRC (or others) versus SOC, create a new thread and lets leave this one for Daioja. }D

Will this be the first SOC with a bot that splits down the middle? Kay back on topic but yeah this will be the first SOC that splits down the middle I think the closest will be Iron Gear where the legs are split in half along with Daltanius, Daimos' legs and the feet of Combattler and Voltes.

I actually like the individual robots better than the combined mode. They look so simple and classic with a great presence.

They sure do!! Like I said one of those robots where 2 sets would be great to display, one in each mode. The only Diecast robot at all I know of that splits in half that I own is one of the robots from the Ginguiser Smashbox, not an SOC though. The green guy with the fanged teeth!hehehe

Aha! I forgot about the Gingaizer BulGator/BluGator (whichever you like) The splitting action of robots, new, or vintage is pretty limited. Now, if we were talking baddies split in two for the killin' swish, we'd be here all day!
