Yeah the design is really more 70's then what we expect from 80's design and considering it came out in 81' it should be understandable. Like I said its has more in common with Daitarn which is pretty clean then compared with Godsigma or Dairugger which started to add in little "knock knacks". Also considering who the designer was it makes sense that it would have clean, sparse, lines with smooth surfaces, very 70's.

Ok, just got home and spent about 20 mintes with it. Just combined it and I am just...wow...its cool. Transformation and combination is fun. Feels so much more solid combined than as seperate robots. I feel much better about my purchase now. I think some more time with it tonight will make for a good review tomorrow. Hope other owners will chime in with their first thoughts

Wow the proportions look better than Daitarn and that`s one of my favorite SOC`s, much more dynamic.
How`s the weight? Cuz you know that's one of the first questions asked.

Yeah the proportions make Daitarn look thin in the shoulders....and you know I love Daitarn, but I admit the Daioja has much better proportions. As for the weight, it is hefty. The same or a tad heavier than Daitarn

Love it,the Gattai is very fun as Chachi said, transforming is really wonderful.I also didnt have much time today as I had to run to band practice. But tomorrow Ill get some shots in.The weapons are very nice.Again the hollow feel of the robots is just because the way they transform, for instance on the red one,you need to put his arms inside his chest etc.Im sure Chachi realised this as he put the 3 guys together,am I right Chachipower? Also the weight of them transformed into Daioja is very good.I need a bit more time to give more opinions. But so far Im very happy. And after all this is an early 80s Robot,so the detail is just right. He is sort of a bridge between the 70s and 80s.Kind of between Mazinger and Daitarn as far as aesthetics. One thing I like is the chest pieces and how they swivel around.Very cool. Also how teh shield can be placed on teh shoulder with teh Sword handle in it.Look for pics tomorrow.

Yes, I realized that the hollow feel is due to having to hide lots of parts so it's not really a bad thing. The combined robot however feels so nice. I did a quick preview video of it having just spent 20 minutes with it. I think I will work on the full video tomorrow.

well, i will wait for chichpower for his video review or anybody else's before diving in on this purchase. It appears that there may be an overstock of this in the aftermarket. who knows, the price may go down a bit to around 250 ish.

Part of the robots name, it means strongest so " the Strongest Robot Daioja".

Congrats on the new acquisitions guys . Just curious though, is it just me or does the box seem kind of small/compact? From the pics, it makes the think the Daitarn's box is longer (but not as thick)? Gold

Mines sitting at home waiting for me, happy dance.
Great mini review chachi! You know the standard backpack/wings really don't stick out that far but I'm glad you have the option of putting on a smaller one.

Got mine and I've been playing with it for awhile now. I also found a way to increase thigh articulation at the groin. First the middle robot, don't press the arms all the way in and at the top of legs remove the blue piece, it just slides out. Now you can use the arm swivel from the middle robot as a thigh swivel and angle the legs out and increase articulation. It will also make the figure slightly taller.

Drat, I had no real interest in this figure but pictures posted here have swayed me.
