Oh my God .... brilliant job !! ... SOC is the real deal ... and hounestly I feel horrible that bandai will slow down tHE SOC to give more room to the SRC line!! (I heard that they will stop producing SOC for two years then they will think of getting back to that level of engineering!!)

Can't seem to fix my link above.
Anyway, it pointed to a live version of Turbonegro's "I Got Erection" which pretty much sums up my feelings about this SOC.
I'd really love to have an official position from Bandai on the SOC topic that's not word of mouth. Anyone can point me to some article in english?

Well kinda I think the reviewer made up those modes to try to be close to the Anime. If Bandai really had those modes in mind they would have added extra parts.
Also I can tell the finish is a really subtle pearl that's probably getting washed out in the photos, nice.

I'm a little confused on the vehicle mode, is that a nod to the vintage toy? I didn't see Daioja transforming into that when I watched the series, unless that's meant to be the Crusader?  Gold |

Ace Redder (essu redda) - the red one
Aoida (aoida) - the blue one who transforms into torso n hands parts
Cobalter (kobaruuda) - the Dark blue one, transforms into feet n legs

I also got mine today... 15 seconds into holding them in my hands, i am not impressed. Looks plasticky. I havent combined it yet but plastic feel is not what i expected. I was expecting something along the lines of what i got with daitarn 3. Each bot feels hollow no doubt due to transformation reasons. Maybe even top heavy. And i had trouble standing them. Again real quick to handle before i ran out.
This is not my final opinion, i literally had it in my hands 15 seconds each bot before i ran out to the hospital to visit my mom. My mother is my priority so i will make sure to do my usual review and give my thoughts.

Huh, I have a feeling the individual robots were second priority to the combined mode. Probably explains the top heaviness since two are literally standing on their heads in Daioja mode. Still I can't wait and since I'm going to display it in combined mode I hope it comes together and is greater than its parts.

Yeah im not too worried because I will be displaying it combined and it most likely be really balanced once combined and with the weight spread out. I cant wait to get home to check it out again. I felt a knot in my stomach when it just looked so plain and plasticky. Kinda wish i had a bit more time with it before i left. Hopefully baron weirwulf will chime in soon and see what he thinks. |
