Unfortunately, this global distribution does not apply to VF-1 toys or anything related to SDFM or DYRL. Some info posted in a FB Macross group Macross Fan Central Teddy Gorospe "So many fans ask why there are no SDF Macross merchandise being sold outside of Japan in the global announcement or ask why not release DYRL. Well this should clarify why. The entire lawsuit between Big West and Harmony Gold is the enforcement of the international distribution rights that were decided in the Japanese courts in 2002. Here is a visual chart so fans can understand the ruling. In 2002, the Japanese courts decided that Big West is the IP holder of Macross as well as the full rights holder for distribution of Macross and all its derivatives domestically (in Japan). However international distribution rights were a different issue based on agreements during the beginning of production of the original SDF Macross. In order to fund the original show, Big West agreed that Tatsunoko would have full international rights for SDF-1 Macross. Harmony Gold's rights come from a license agreement with Tatsunoko. They have no contract with Big West. Move on to the Macross Do You Remember Love movie. The international distribution rights for the film belong to Big West which means they can distribute it ONLY to movie theatres internationally. The merchandising rights belong to Tatsunoko meaning that Blu-Rays, toys, etc for the film can be distributed by Tatsunoko's licensee Harmony Gold. However since the film rights belong to Big West, for Harmony Gold to release to release the Blu-Ray they need to secure film rights from Big West. So this property due to its complex international distribution rights will probably sit in limbo. Now Tatsunoko did not license merchandising rights for DYRL in the last renewal which is why HG isn’t putting out DYRL merchandise like they have in the past. Now the rest of Macross productions international distribution rights from Flashback 2012 onwards clearly belong to Big West. Harmony Gold back in 1996 did changed its view on Macross global rights when Macross Plus did extremely well overseas. In 1997, they threatened to sue Tatsunoko for not protecting their view of global rights to all Macross. Tatsunoko took a look at the original agreements between Studio Nue/Big West and them. They concurred with Harmony Gold. Instead of standing up to HG, Tatsunoko decided to fight Big West/Studio Nue over Macross rights. What Harmony Gold did between 1999-2003 when Tatsunoko and Big West fought for the Macross rights was arbitrarily registered the Macross trademark everywhere outside of Japan. Now this was done since Harmony Gold wanted to ensure that since it was likely that Tatsunoko would lose, they would force Big West to deal with them if they wanted to go international with Macross. Now, Big West could have just simply renamed Macross something else and go to another international distributor to avoid dealing with HG. However they built the Macross brand and decided to litigate for those trademarks the last 16 plus years. Now Big West has won and Harmony Gold officially surrendered on April 2021, the chart below is now enforced. So none of what has taken place or will take place affects Robotech in anyway since Big West does not have the international rights to SDF-1 Macross. Tatsunoko does and they renewed the license with Harmony Gold. Source: UK IPO Macross case of Big West vs Harmony Gold"

Wow, thanks for posting this GetterBoi Was wondering why SDF Macross and DYRL music are still blocked in Spotify while other Macross IPs are available. Now we all know why. Kinda surprised how Tatsunoko handled this whole fiasco, maybe majority of share holders are gaijin...

First official Bandai Macross product to get global distribution VF-25 Messiah Worldwide Anniversary Ver. Tempted to get this but as it's basically a repaint, I've held off...and glad it's no longer an e-streetfight to get in a PO with places like BBTS making it available for PO.

Looks like Bandai did the 3 screws upgrade to the hip joint. Matte finish, so be extra careful about paint chipping. The colors looks beautiful.

Got my VF-25 MWW. It's fully matte coated, which looks quite nice, but I worry about it being prone to scuff.
