Like the title says. I've been delving into this with full steam of interest. I want to get another piece to go with my Tetsujin but I'm having a hard time figuring out what to get. I want something that's close to the size of the Tetsujin and in the same vein of style. Straight legs look cool and the big fists are also neat looking. Basically just wondering what is a good companion piece to it. I've seen that some of the 16" plastic Marmit Mazinger types are good in regards to scale but it's also a different type of material and feel I would guess. So let me know what you collector's think. I appreciate the advice and input.

Other than vinyl, there's the large Dairugger (that was rumored to have been designed to be given the metal treatment like the SG-01). Other large toys that might be similar in size are the two large stereo component toys - CompoSensei and Compoboy. I believe that these are huge. Another might be the largest Zanbot. As I don't have these, I can't confirm. But I think they are all larger than your typical DX robot.

Indeed the Daigokin Great Mazinger looks great next to SG-01. As does the plastic/combiner Daitaron 3. .
-The Daioja DX is super large too, the magnetic one. -Zanbot 3 like Myles said too. -Takatoku DX GoShogun is super large.

I'm digging the Dairugger and he's fairly inexpensive. I'm just looking through my Super #1 Robot book and seeing all sorts of cool figures that have that Mega Man boss aesthetic and thinking how cool those would be. I ended up getting the Jumbo Daiku Maryu and think that will look nice next to the robot.

Well, congrats. Its a great looking piece. But it can't stand the weight of the toy. The legs on mine warped in real bad, so I had to stop displaying it. If you are going to keep it out, make sure you prop it up so the legs are not supporting the figure alone.

In that case, I may do some tinkering to it and see what I can do to re-enforce it. Gotta love a cheap toy that you can worry free tool around with. Thanks for the heads up though.

Also, how tall is the God Marz Godaikin? It looks to be fairly big when fully formed.

So I got it today (Daiku Maryu) and those legs are sh*t. I already had to glue one of the leg koints together upon opening it. I'm gonna try to reinforce the legs so it's a little more stable.

Nice pic. That really helps. I do like the Dairugger. So, I think I'll try to track that one down. Is there a Matchbox version and a Japanese version?

Keep in mind that both, the US and Japan, Dairugger/Voltron are all plastic. There was never a full size one made out of metal.

yes, it had to be a dream, because there were never any diecast version of the big dairugger xv made by popy, bandai, or matchbox.

Is there size difference between the two or are they just reused molds?

your welcome moop ;D
I'm kind dissapointed for the Tetsujin Actually, not satisfied to the hope of great expectation to have that toy with its high price, I began to realize that when I bought it, is only half of plastic compare to big body, the only thing diecast is his armor, with magnet for attach. it would be great if all of body is diecast/steel compare to is brother godaikin, average composition of their body are 70%-80% diecast/steel. I could feel the weight, the big size, and offcourse the beauty of it

I get what your saying, but the thing is a sculptural piece of beauty. It would look good as a piece of art in any decor. I'm also partial to it because it was one of my best flea market finds of all time.
