Not my fave, but at the price point, this will be my first Freedom kit. I just finished assembling my first RG (Aile. Strike) and am real pleased at how much fun it was.

Yeah, the thing about this Freedom is that there doesn't seem to have a big sticker sheet like the others. Guess they didn't want to katoki style it. No hurries to put in pre order, freaking Yen exchange is sucking hard. I'll have to see how much it will be at BBTS and the other domestic importer stores before placing the order. The new HGUC Jegan looks nice though.

Found it at a local hobby store. I don't think I have time to get started on it before the holidays... Hmm... maybe I'll take my tool kit home and bring it with me to build at my family's home during my vacation week. If I get around to it, I'll post pics!

A look at the RG Freedom in progress! I forgot to pack a few tools but I'm making do with a knife and being extra careful. So far, I'm really liking the build. For those who didn't know, RG is kind of half way between MG and HG - with a lot of tiny details simplified with pre-assembled bits. Here's what the leg looks like - right off the sprue you get a partially built skeleton that looks like a scaled-down MG skeleton. Then add pieces to build it up. The resulting limb has panels that slide against each other with each movement. The manual also warns you to move pieces around. Sometimes not at all obvious why... The hip includes a piece that slide UPWARDS into the crotch before you start adding the armour... I still don't know why. The torso core is 2 of the skeleton pieces together. It features a lot of joints for a huge range of subtle movement. And the arms have bits that need to be removed. There is a default fist in place that the instructions will tell you to toss away in favour of a hand with poseable fingers... More later! For now, Happy Holidays! ;D

Awesome! Although I found in the show the Meteor Unit was kind of going back to all that's wrong with Gundam (who's got the biggest mecha wins), I still think that it looks cool, and it would make for a fun build. I recently completed the Skygrasper kit for Strike Gundam - although it's fun to have the option parts for Launcher and Sword Strike Gundam and the Aile unit also connects to the Skygrasper itself, it's still just a collection of small pieces mostly. Meteor Unit should be HUGE. I can't wait.

work in progress, I used silver paint for the lining and some wheathering, that's not bad... it's more detailled than the MG, I think and the scale is not helping...:-D

Really nice job goldorak. The silver paint lining is a nice touch. RG are a lot more detail and to me a higher grade versus the MG. just the fact that the mouth guard have actual vent hole so that lining isn't necessary is a step above MG. And due to the small scale, it is much harder to build. I look forward to seeing the next one, the RG Zeta. I thought about getting this, but for whatever reason, I just don't like the Gundam designs from Seed or Seed Destiny.

actually from what i understand and see it is just a re-release of the HG 1/144 version which can still be found on ebay the new version may have some extra decals and stuff but it is supposed to be the same kit as the older HG one, the decals will probably be made again by after market decalers like Samualdecal and others. the only thing i can see it maybe having is a new connector for the RG since the original was just a HG, but that is most likely a easy fix for most hobby builders
Edit i just checked ebay the normal ones can still be found for their original price of around $95.00 the new one is about $135.00

They're stickers. I have a love-hate relation with them... Firstly, the stickers are VERY thin so if you get them on correctly, they look fantastic and could almost be mistaken for decals. However, one thing I disliked was that it seemed that Bandai got a little bit too excited after the successful sticker design of the Aile Strike... Freedom comes with just a little too many stickers for my taste.
