--Well, I'm vindicated! When I posted questions (not here) about the two-pack with Ultra Magnus and Fire Convoy, I got the internet equivalent of blank stares. Then I saw it on my monthly trip to Costco. Ultra Prime giftset, in Cybertron-style packaging, for 30 buckazoids. That's not a typo: $30. That's a pretty sweet deal, considering when they were first released, they were 30 bucks each. I got Fire Convoy when he came out over here (I know he's called Prime, but I call him Fire Convoy to keep everyone straight), but I had been kicking myself for not getting Ultra Magnus so I could combine them. Now I can have both Fire Convoy and Ultra Prime hanging around! Yays!

The RID Prime and Magnus are still two of the best versions of each character. They don't suffer from the re-design/save money/make smaller syndrome that usually happens with new Transfromers plus their combined mode is humungous.

I know, man!
Actually, part of the reason why I never got Magnus the first time around was that I didn't want to use up the space in my apartment at the time. Now I've got a big bookshelf that I display all mine on, so no worries.

Does this giftset come with the big sword?

Does this giftset come with the big sword? Um, no. Well, I don't think it does. I can't see one in the package. I don't think Omega Prime ever had a sword, though, did he?

--Heh heh, well, thanks for posting that link, but there ain't no freakin' way I'm payin' some guy 40 bucks plus s&h for a plastic repro piece that ain't even translucent. I mean, I'm sure he puts 40 bucks worth of work into each and every one, but the end product just isn't worth it, especially to someone like me who could just mock one up out of paper that would look nearly as convincing.

Yeah, I think the only reason to get this is if you want to complete your vintage Fortress or Grand Maximus if it's missing the sword since it would probably be worth it. Those guys go for over $700.00+ if there in complete condition.

It really would have been nice if they included the sword in this set, if nothing more than an incentive to buy another pair of these TFs. I do like the slightly different color variation on Optimus Prime, with the black on his chest instead of orange like the original RID one had. $30 is a good deal for both of them though.
