I think I need to own a Godsigma, and I'm quite tempted to go with the cheap Taiwanese version that goes for a fraction of the price. Can anyone give me a heads up on how different the quality is? I've tried most of the other Taiwanese knock offs from this series at one time or another and was sorely disappointed with "Godtron", somewhat regretted the quality of "Lion-Bot", and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of "Protector."
Just how much of a difference in quality do you get by paying the real sticker tag?

Awesome. I just bought the real one after selling my KO. How much were you gonna spend on the KO?

Also, The KO isn't that bad. There is actually another thread on this here: robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Popychogokin&action=display&thread=12022&page=2As far as my experience goes, the KO is not that bad. The quality of the transformation and engineering does not compare to the original and the paint is somewhat bad on the KO. There is also sizeable difference in the heft of the KO when compared to the original. I as happy with my KO for what it was, but I decided to sell it and then magically a week later a legit one popped up CIB on eBay for $99 so I scored pretty good. The KO displays well but the original is an outstanding piece and once you've held that one it's easy to see why the original is so awesome.

The Taiwan KO version looks like a Godaikin.

not sure of your budget, but the godaikin godsigma is going pretty cheap these days, just saw one closed in ebay for 200+usd, half the price i paid 1-2yrs back. anyway, the KO one is not too bad looking and if you can get it cheap, possible under 80-90usd, then i would say its a pretty good buy. happy hunting

If memory serves me right, I've gotten a few KO like Lionbot, Baxinger and Gardian. The Lionbot was pretty horrible, the Baxinger and Gardian was okay, but you can tell it's a KO as the materials and finishing are not very good. So I would recommend you get the real deal, why waste money twice, once to get the KO then later when you wish to get the real thing you have to pay again, and with KOs there's practically no resale value.

I was able to buy my KO Godsigma for $50 at Frank & Sons in LA. I sold it for $80 so it's possible. But seriously the official one is amazing.

I wish I've better luck in selling my robots, almost every robot I sold off is a loss for me. Btw I read somewhere in this forum, the paint scheme for the KO Godsigma is a bit different from the original? Is that true?

I don't believe it is different, just messier, but I could be wrong.

The main paint differences are on the main black Thunder King bot. The top half of the thighs are black on the Popy, and all chrome on the KO. Also ,the upper arms/shoulders are silver/dull chrome on the Popy, and super shiny chrome on the KO. Shades of yellow, and blue on the leg Kings bots are a little more washed out on the KOs, and the yellow plastic antennae bits are more stiff plastic, vs. rubbery on the legit version.
Since the old comparison pic links are gone, I'll get a pic or two of them side by side.
