Playstation Network. Sony's online services for the PS3 and PSP. In this case, the PS3's online store.
Mmm... Odin Sphere for $10 is quite tempting. But I wonder what happened to the HD ports of OS and Muramasa. Was there any truth to those rumours?
And if only it meant that we'll finally get software PS2 backward compatibility. Wishful thinking, yeah.

I am asking the same question! We know they release Japanese PS1 titles on PSN because it's the same as the PSOne Classics line... heck you could put any PS1 disc in your PS3 and it should play fine. But porting PS2 games? Hmmm...

I have quite the PS2 collection. I wish Playstation would make an update to make the ps3 compatible with all their old games.

Will the downloadable PS2 games from the PSN Store be playable on a PSP? No, definitely not. Unless they port them to the portable console. The PSP has less horsepower than the PS2. Playable emulation would be impossible. They'd (Bandai?) have to port the game to the PSP.

I think these downloadable versions are the very reason PS3s don't have PS2 backwards compatibility anymore. Every business gets warm fuzzies when they can sell an old product all over again.

First PS3 run include in hardware core a second processor to run PS2 games. Sony quickly stopped this feature to optimize the PSN and vin money by uploading PS2 contents...

If anyone happens to buy Odin Sphere, I'd appreciate hearing if the emulated version has the same catastrophic slowdown issues than the PS2 did. That really ruined the game for me when I tried to play it.

i saw some psp games over @ Amazon that can be downloaded. Codes to download them at the PSN Store, yes. Useful for when Sony's system won't accept your credit card info and just refuse to get off their lazy ass to fix it.
