I will likely rent this one like the last one unless the reviews say the campaign is much longer and the online multiplayer much improved. It was a fun game to try, and play online for a bit, but it did not have the staying power to keep me playing it.

im looking forward for this game. if you reserve this game on gamestop you get G1 Optimus Prime while on Amazon i believe you get bruticus in its g2 color skin

Don't know how much of it is true, but according to an interview I read (on IGN, I think), the developers of this game stopped Hasbro from phasing out the Dinobots. Apparently, Hasbro wanted to reshape the franchise and the Dinobots were deemed too "silly" for the new century's Transformers, so they didn't want them to appear in the game. The developers, however, big Dinobots fans it seems, stood their ground and insisted. And they won. I remember reading that they really wanted to put Grimlock in the first game, but feared that they couldn't do it right with the time and story constraints they had to deal with and chose to postpone their introduction to an eventual sequel instead.
Seems weird that Hasbro would want to kill off Grimlock and co, considering they're fan-favourites.

I have a hard time to think they would kill him off. It was not that long ago they made a MP toy of him. I think Bay was the one who did not want anything to do with Dino bots. I do like the backstory they have for the game. I hated the dinobots myself. They looked cool, but the idea behind them and their characters always made me cringe. The game's back story makes them a bit more promising and integrated.

I saw this at SDCC. I never played the previous version, or any other Transformers games, but I want to play this. Hell it made me want to play the previous one!

the War for Cybertron is awesome i bought it twice first when i had my ps3 afterwards i had only a Xbox360 and i re-bought it again. it has a excellent campaign as well as multiplayer definently worth the money. i recommend getting it now and playing it prior to the new one for the main story and gameplay you can pick it up on ebay as low as $10.00 sometimes and it is worth every penny

wow that is a awesome deal i wonder if it is a solid copy or a DLC code i think the game is downloadable in games on demand for xbox360 and in the PS3 store as well.

So I just played the demo on PS3. The game itself, looks better and plays better then the first one. Load times were kind of long, but that might be demo related. The narrative works better as well. It blends better with cut scenes. The online feels the same, but has more customization. Likely a little more Modern Warfare upgrade influenced. I am still going to wait to buy it used, but it looks promising.  |

Weapons are more reactive and destructive.
I remember when playing WOC with Optimus or Meg, main weapon was good and efficient
but others weapons picked during game were useless.
FX are better in this 2nd opus.
I also tried demo multiplay : fun and nice...
Too bad this time no coop in story mode.
I preordered mine (PS3). Nights will be short...

Anyone knows how to mute players in multiplayer mode on PS3 ?
Can take anymore playing with people shouting or listening hardtek...

im not even sure how you do it on PS3 since i got a 360 =/, what i do on the 360 is i access hi/her gamertag card and i mute them from there. i would asume on PS3 should have gamertags as well?.
