I've always wanted to get the GD-17 but I've heard so many stories about the mechanics not working or breaking very easily.

I am with you on that SCG, as I figure eventually it will break down live a ps3 and then it will be junk. I would much prefer a nice complete mint example of the crimson box Godaikin version, non mechanical and will stand the test of time....

Very cool one of my favorite robots of all time. I have an original one from my childhood as well as a mintier one I picked up, GD17, and also a KO jumbo...
