I have an identical set at home, same layout and everything, but different box art. Mines the more common one you see in ebay tho. Any idea if the one in the auction is first issue or something?

We typically have a policy against posting live auction links unless its your own. But this is a TBDX member who posted there. Thoughts from other members?? I know I certainly have some of these items on my watch list.

Oops my bad Kingboy..... I did NOT think of the drawing attetnion factor dumb on my part. Even though I don't worry about that much. As by the time a week goes by, anyone who is anyone in the robot world with the measn to buy, is following these auctions. Stuff this nice does not slip throught he cracks, an if a seller thinks something may go for way less then what they want, often they end the auction before it locks in at 12 hours to go..... "TBDX member" Do you mean a member from aonother board?

Yes, another board. He's a long time collector seemingly getting out of the hobby.

If Mark feels the need to post up some major stuff, since he's a member here on R-J (machinesoldier), and TBDX, I'll chime in that I don't have any issue with having his stuff posted live here, whoever does it, so he gets the best bids. As Kevin says, they're not flying under any radars or mislisted jems. However, I'd agree in general, that live auction links are simply not needed in everyday thread blah-dee-blah conversations, to make points. Just discuss the toys. Guys will know what you're talking about, or they'll find out quick on their own if interested in the hobby. I would just ask, why not add any Clover news to the already pretty cool Clover thread going here last winter, instead of starting something new? We gotta get crankin' again on that thread! Too much fun pic sharing there, needs to go on! Edit: Derr! It's been a while for this thread. Yeesh. www.robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Popychogokin&action=display&thread=17751As to the Gundam set, not sure if info ever was found as to whether the full painting box art was released in limited numbers at same time as the regular photos box art. Seems many think the painting box was a later addition. The last ebay link, the Daiojya DX , shows up a time or two each year, and just check the SOC GX-61 thread, somewhere in the middle, some members have some great pics posted of this vintage set combined up, with it's hilarious proportions. A very nice, fun set though!

Those are my auctions. Thanks for the plug!!
I just posted my auctions in the for sale forum as well.
As to the Gundam box variation, the art box (like mine) was released after the Gundam movie came out in Japan as a last ditch effort by Clover to sell some toys after Bandai got the license to produce kits from the show. I'm not sure which box is rarer though.

To set things straight on the "lose another collector" angle, I for one am in the hobby and streamlining. I think Mark has a similar thought...streamlining. He can add details, but we both will still be around E

I'm glad you posted here, Mark. I was just caught between board formalities and did not want to offend the masses by treating this different than we do any other similar posts. Good luck with your auctions. I hope I can be active on some of these.
