Well it finally got here yesterday. and i can say i am pretty impressed with him. i looked through the paperwork and they do not show anything new for the MP-03 Starscream so i did not bother to scan or take a picture of the paper, it is only one sided the other side of it is blank white, i also see no mention of Shoji's name on it so i do not know if he is playing a part in its design like he did with this one. here are the boxes for the two THS Transformers. as you can see the box for the new Convoy is much bigger and thicker. by the way i see everyone call it the HBS-02 it is actually properly called the THS-02 it says it on the front of the box

here is the Galaxy Convoy and original Convoy side by side. i actually like the Galaxy Convoy figure better after holding them and playing around with the two, he is bigger heavier, more details and the transformation is much more worthwhile. but do not get me wrong this new Convoy is awesome to

vehicle mode, there is sadly no comparison in the two. the Galaxy Convoy is far superior and transforms much smoother. the front cabs on the Convoy i cannot get the arms to lock into place the trailer however is awesome as is Roller. but it does not matter because he will be kept in bot mode anyhow the entire time.

here is a size comparison. even though he is small he feels bigger when you hold him mainly due to the diecast in his chest and legs. the Gundam Fix Blue Destiny is in the background and the HCM-Pro MK II Titan is along side him. he is awesome for a small figure it is however sad about his transformation, the vehicle mode is horrible and a floppy mess. but thankfully the bot mode is awesome. he is not worth what most ebayers are selling it though you should pay no more then $60.00 to $70.00 for it which is about what i paid for mine , for that price i am quite happy and he will look great on my shelf with the rest of my collection.

Nice pics and thanks for the review Zeomare... I'm a little saddened that the vehicle mode looks horrendous in one of your pics. Are Prime's front tires really that deep in the wheel well?

thanks everyone, sadly yes the front wheels are wretched, and are virtually hidden in truck mode. i also had a b*tch of a time getting the arms to lock into place on mine. the truck mode is a floppy mess for this figure, the Galaxy Convoy is light years ahead of it. thankfully i will be keeping mine in Bot mode. for a small figure he has a very complex transformation scheme and i think that is why the were not able to pull it off properly, i understand why they made it more complex then the 1980's version , it is the year 2006 and they wanted to show what they can do with technology but i wish they would have simplfied the transformation they might have been able to pull off both modes then.

Thanks for the review zeo. Really helpful pics!
Yes, from the very beginning, I was not impressed either with how the truck mode looks, but it is still a very nice figure, and has a lot going for it. For starters, the trailer is wonderful. If Takara made a trailer EXACTLY like this, but sized for MP-01, it would sell out during preorder just as this did. Then of course the accessories here are great. Personally I also like the darker color metallic blue used on THS-02 better than the royal-ish blue used on MP-01.
I would say the definitive version of Convoy/Prime would be one that finds a medium between this one and MP-01.

Transformation isn't as easy because for the size, it seems extremely fragile. I had to use the instruction manual and still couldn't get the arms to lock on the side. So transforming into the truck modes isn't that great. Fully posable, but joint can get loose and floppy easily. I'm satisfy with the look and the engineering, but dissappointed with how fragile the figure is. Presentation is extremely nice, so if you like you toys in MIB condition, THS-02 is perfect.

Yep... it does feel fragile and just doesn't look good in cab mode. It could've been better executed IMO. And mine isn't mint anymore because I went ahead and removed those tabs on the forearms since they serve no purpose because I can't get them to lock in place in cab mode.
