It's always nice to see nice jumbos in shops, they're just ther aiting for you to grab them, a few centimeters from your hand....
It's hard to say if it was a good price or not, as always everything depend on the condition, for a Mach Baron with no missiles at all, it's more or less the price. Of course since you can buy them straight in the shop there's not the usual middleman fee and shipping costs. As for the Red Baron, it depend if the guns were broken or not, stickers state and also the blue missile. For that price I guess it was missing the guns and the missiles so it's a regular price.
Hard to make incredible deals in shops these days, especially in big towns like Osaka and Tokyo. But great feeling to see them in real, always.

so true, mikedeco. in japan i dont see any great retail deals on jumbos in otaku shops. in fact, i think in the retail setting they are more expensive than i sometimes see on YJ. but you are also very correct that it is really something to shake off my jet lag, hit the shops, and get to hold a 40 year old jumbo that i wouldnt be able to see otherwise. when i ask about jumbos, in almost every shop a staff member will kind of snort/laugh and say "i have jumbos, but not anything for sale."

mike: did you gave it a shot at the spartan? I think you are missing that to complete your villians...from your collection photo ;D

Yep, I've try a huge shot on the Spartan when he was on auction the second time (after cleaning) but didn't met the reserve price. I've contact the seller to see what was his reserve price since my bid was already pretty high but he refuses the tell me and told me to make him an offer and he will see if it's enough. But this means a deal off YJP and I won't take a risk to send him money and never see the toy, since it's off YJP, no guarantee. And with this kind of amount, I'm not taking any risks, beside that I don't like the attitude, the guy can say a price and that's it, I don't like the "make an offer and we'll see" and I'm sure he had put a crazy reserve price just to see how far it can go.
I guess that I will wait for another one, that's more wise.

Did the daidenjin jumbo that just closed in YJ won by any bro here?
It is so damn rare....
just a question, it is by robot factory right?

I wanted to go for it but it ended a bit too high IMO for something that needed to be fixed and had missing pieces. It's rare, but you see it from time to time. It's also made by Popy but it's part of the Robot Factory line, the build it yourself serie.

Hi Mike, that was the first time i saw a daidenjin on sale, thus I thought it was quite rare. You have all the robot factory pieces except this right? Ok side tracking, omg ,the Mach Baron Jm at YJ closed at 696,969yen!? (quite a kinky price ;D) I was quite suprised because it has surpassed the price of a boxed spartan k5?! The last 10 min of bidding lasted almost an hour for the Mach Baron LOL! Secondly, I feel like slapping myself and banging the wall again for not buying the loose Mach Baron I saw in a toyshop in Japan for 120,000yen. Seeing the price it ended demoralised me abit thinking how can I go on in this hobby. I cannot imagine how much it will be sold now for a boxed UFO Spazer

I didn't bid on the Daidenjin but I was bidding on the Voltes V that was auctioned off at the same time......It was missing its horns and had incorrect fists.......I lost the auction by $38. My top bid was 160000yen and it went for 163000yen. Oh well, I got caught up in it early but then my common sense kicked in and figured I was bidding too high for a Jumbo that needed repairs, had no box, etc.
Did anyone here with the Voltes? If so, congrats on a rare piece.

Well, in my early days of collecting I didn't wanted to collect the robot factory, so I've pass on them a lot and I regret it now. Most of the old collector I know got them MIB for super cheap back then. And today they go for crazy prices.
I'm missing also the BF, Godsigma and Daidenjin. So still a long raod for those as they don't show that often, but you never know, they can all pop out tomorrow.
The price for the Mach Baron is more or less what it's selling these days since it had all the missiles and the little car. It's one of those Jumbo that have a strong relation between price and accessories. Loose with nothing it's around 120.000 like the one you saw, then if it comes with the missiles on the head it's more like 150.000, then with the missiles in the chest you go around 250.000, and then if it got the box and the car it jumps between 600.000 and 800.000 depending on the inserts, catalog, plastic bag and all that. I think that a super mint one sold for about 1.000.000 not so long ago if I recall correctly.
Voltes V is a super piece and actually his arms where on the picture of the Daidenjin and the seller was informed that the arms where swapped so at the end it was more or less complete, needed to be fixed on the horn and the chest piece. I guess it was a "regular" price for it as the stickers where not super clean, boxed Voltes V sell for super insane price but it's a damn good jumbo.

Hi Mike, you are right on the 120k yen mach baron JM, it is only with the main body and nothing else. I regret not to get it as a MIB seems far far away based on the recent close in YJ...havent include agent commisions itself which sometimes, the commission is so high it can get another jumbo My biggest miss this year has to be the daltanious JM i saw in Japan selling loose for 105000yen

Anymore info of any is appreciated. And any of your friends won the item? IT was closed before bidding ends....

I thought the same thing on a T28 that went around 4 times at 80000¥. Told myself that if it went to 70000¥ he was mine. It's been a couple of weeks and he hasn't been back.

I saw that Daiku Maryu also. I, too, thought that the 0 feedback was shady. I hope it was a fake deal because I'd be sick to find out that I didn't bid! It reminded me of the UFO Spazer that was on E-Bay not too long ago that was bid up very high.
