Hi all, started this dairy so that all bros here can keep track of date and sales of jumbos as a reference in future. I was keen on it but turned off by the shipping costs, did I make a mistake?
A set of famosa jumbos with Box - daimos , dragun and gaiking sold for US$500 but US$1000 on shipping?!
Sales date: 28 Apr 2012

I would love to have a manual that I could use as a reference for past Jumbo sales. I know that they have been done before by other members, however I don't believe that one has been done recently, as Jumbo sales in 2012 are much different than even 2-3 years ago.
I saw that E-Bay listing of the Famosa Jumbos. The $1000 shipping price is ridiculous. I'm wondering if the seller is hoping that someone will not pay attention to the shipping cost before it's too late. Personally, there are too many original Popy Jumbos that I need to collect before I can start chasing knockoffs.
Hope you keep this thread going, good luck and thank you!

About the Gaiking/ Daimos / Dragun by Famosa, I think you must take a GREAT CARE, in France I see in a site 'LE BON COIN.FR' ( a sort of local Ebay) three jumbos for sale for the price of 250 euros (something like this, the THREE JUMBOS as Ebay, not only one!). And I said, there's something strange, I try to contact the seller, I think first he guy live in France near ROUEN (76) (as printed in the original message), and after I have a strange message by a woman from Madrid (!!!) She said, the jumbos are in Madrid..after a couple of messages, I think 'something wrong here', and since...no message. I just said, I pay only when the postman is at home with the parcel. I'm not stupid to send money in Madrid and nothing in back! But I never believe have these jumbos for this price, of course something wrong with this business. SO TAKE A GREAT CARE WITH FAMOSA WITH A CHEAP PRICE.

I'm shocked! 248000yen! Are you positive that it sold for that or did the bidding end at that price with the reserve not being met? That sounds like a good buy if it did sell for that price. The buyout price was almost 500,000yen, that's why I'm so shocked. You'd almost never see an E-Bay seller let something go for 50% off.
Either way, that's good information to know

I think you're right, $4-5k, easy on E-Bay. 281,000yen for a mint in box Danguard Ace is incredible. This makes me wonder what a loose one in good condition would go for? There hasn't been much of a selection on YJ these last few days.

Hi mikedeco, I expected a lot of hell unleased on that Spartan so I tell myself not to look at it as it is definitely out of my affordability. I was ready to unleash my own hell on his Capsule Robo G , quite complete except the paperworks, it is also listed under a very wierd title and category, thus I guess not much pple would have seen it. Same ending - removed at the last day of auction

i didnt buy it. i havent been REcollecting for very long, really, and i have a cheap but inconsistent source for jumbos etc. when they pop up. i try not to spend thousands of dollars on 50 cents worth of plastic. i just cant. hundreds, maybe, but not thousands.
the one in denden town was 120,000 yen, i think. i have a receipt around here somewhere with the shop name on it. its directly across the street from joshin denki no honten (there are 5 joshin denki locations in denden town). they also had about 5 of those giant 4' gundams for a lot cheaper than i see on ebay. i think they were around 3k each. nothing else too remarkable there that i saw. lots of video game stuff and small vinyl robots and kaiju. the usual heavy sidewalk traffic type of store.

1oldrobot: I agree with you that it is ridiculous to pay thousands for a piece of plastic, however I guess this lies in the eye of the beholder as its the same logic to why people pay 35million for a piece of 1960s ferrari, thousands for a piece of leather from Louis Vuitton, or millions for a piece of paper art. As long as we can appreciate it, and not let the hobby affect much of our peronal lifes, it is will worth it ;D meanwhile my no logic and crazy hunt for the UFO SPAZER continues...
