the post about BOOTLEG transformers jogged my memory. THEN someone on a TF Newsgroup asked if anyone renamed their TFs...here is what i posted
wow, deja-vu!
i was just talking about this on RobotJapan.com
when i was a kid, i pretended that the leader of the Stunticons was the evil version of Optimus Prime.
I named him Pessimist Prime.
i never realized that one day there WOULD be an evil version named Nemesis Prime/Scourge.
i renamed ALOT the G1, but can't remember all:
BumbleBee=TseTse Fly(a pesky robot)
Megatron=Megaton(a fat, but benign leader of the Defensicons)
Galvatron=Galiantron (a knight in shining circuits)
Soundwave=Soundgrave (heavy metal blasting robot, like the punk on Star Trek 4 movie)
Sideswipe....can't recall..Buttwipe? Sidestripe? hmmm, think...think...
Sunstreaker=SunStroker. would drive by retirement homes and jam pace makers (which i got mixed up with Strokes) with a radio signal.
RedAlert=DeadAlert, Robot to Hearse transformer
oh, that reminds me, we came up with Transformers that Hasbro would NEVER
make:
turns into
a Trailer-Home
a PortaPotty
a Platoon(recreational boat...i grew up at the lake in the south)
a Dragboat that turns into a DragQueen (or dragracer). hahahaah, that one still makes me laff..
