Yup! Play Art's Kai is behind this. Still looks like we're in the engineering phase, but it's looking quite awesome.

Happy, though would have prefered it to have been smaller. Those 30cm Kai figures are a bit too big, and doll like...

One thing i know about Play arts Kai is that their Sizes varies from each series.
The FFXIII Playarts really screw up their scales if i remember correctly.
Anyway, GreyFox's really cool!!

This looks nice. I saw snake in person at a store in TN and I was not impressed. I hope this one turns out better.

I had the Snake. The quality wasn't great. Joints not really firm. I sold it after a week. And I'm a MGS fan.

yeah play arts figure are humongus even if they arent all the same scale they are all pretty damn big. all the play arts kai figures i have are pretty good except for the front mission ones (and here they are normal sized figures for some reason as i was hopen for giant sized mechs lol).

Were there discussions on the Play Arts Kai in here somewhere? Due to Gray Fox, I would like to dig into this line a little, at least get a Snake to go with it. For those that collects the line, would be great if you can give me some advice on what to look out for. The upcoming Snake in Battle Dress don't look bad, if not a bit bulky. But I like the design.

The PAKs I own all have the same strengths and weaknesses -
Strengths: Sculpt and Paint: All of the PAKs I have are amazing when it comes to sculpted detail and paint quality. This includes the DMC4 PAKs, MGS Peace Walker Snake, Bayonetta, and a couple of Front Mission evolution Wanzers. Earlier releases, such as those from FFXIII and Resident Evil 5 were a lot shakier, had some really odd sculpting choices, and overall weren't as nice.
Weaknesses: Joint strength (or lack thereof): Every. Single. One. Terrible joint consistency. Whether it's Snake's ankles that make him constantly face plant off my shelf, Bayonetta's ... um, well, ankles, which make her constantly face plant off my shelf, Nero's ... hmm... ankles again.... Dante? Oh yeah. Ankles. Faceplanting.
The Front Mission Wanzers have fine ankles, but their arms are, in some cases, too floppy at the shoulder and wrists to solidly hold their oversized guns. Even in cases like Snake who has ratcheting joints in his knees, they still manage to be "soft" ratchets that don't really hold all that well.
I don't think I've picked up any single toyline off the floor as I have my Play Arts Kais. I love them all, they're fantastic looking figures and the sheer quality of sculpting and painting you get for the money is way worth it, but damn I wish they had better joints.

Ditto for me, though my experience is limited to the FFXIII figures. There were a couple strange molding decisions with those too, like putting the seams across the middle of characters bangs, etc. In addition to being weak, a lot of the articulation is also too blocky for the more organic shapes. Also, the stands are terrible. Very big and clunky, but unable to support any weight. The articulated arm has ratchet joints that feel like they're made from warm butter and silly putty, and the arm itself can't even withstand that torque without bending. I don't know if these have been changed or fixed since. All that said, like Quin I still really like the figures I have. I plan on getting this guy, despite already having the old Macfarlane figure. I wonder if we'll see a repaint in his secret third playthrough colors? One thing i know about Play arts Kai is that their Sizes varies from each series. The FFXIII Playarts really screw up their scales if i remember correctly. The scale was fine across the FFXIII line. But Play Arts Kai is quite a bit larger than the old Play Arts line, putting XIII out of scale with all the preceding FF figures, which is a bummer.

I must say i have all the Halo releases and i have no joint issues with any of them. they are all sturdy and hold poses well. No stands come with them though but they dont need them.
I really dont like figures to be this large but I love big mecha and since halo guys are suited i dont mind them.......... so hopefully this will be as good as the halo ones I have.
the Front misson ones were kinda dissappointing and had weak arm joints as other stated and articulation is not as good as i would of hoped on these. They are aslo no where near as big as their giant brethren...... which was also dissappointing (they cost the same as them though).

oh one more thing they have limited accessories and change of hands........ usually only one set of additional hands and like one to two accessories no matter how many the figure had in its show or game

But Fox here has everything he needs, except maybe a little "chaff" glitter packet. ...and an open masked face. And more hands. Okay, you win.

On a related note, last night EVERY PAK I own fell off my shelf. At once. Every single one, in a cacophony of smashing plastic. Kind of funny timing, that. I presume one fell first and caused a chain reaction.
To their credit, they all fell 4 feet and suffered absolutely no damage, although I did have to spend a few minutes trying to find Dante's pistols which had flown off behind my shelves.
