One last one tonight. I promise. I bought Poseidon from SnowFlak off ebay for $300 in 2008. It was my first real Popy machinder. But it looked crappy. I had no idea how to fix him up. This was before Kitsir and Bourno showed up with all their repro parts and stickers and saved our lives. If I wanted him to look better, I was going to have to figure out how to repro his Kanji chest sticker. I know Illustrator would be a better choice, but I'm terrible at Illustrator. Photoshop's more my speed. Layer sets are your friend when your hand tracing Kanji over a lo-res internet jpeg of someone else's awesome Poseidon. And I didn't just want silver sticker paper. I needed reflective paper just like the Popy. No idea how to do it. This was 2008. No Kitsir yet. Believe me, when he started selling his Poseidon stickers, I was wishing he'd shown up a year before. I laminated the kanji part of the chest sticker on reflective stock through a Fuji laminator at my job. The top yellow triangles and smaller Kanji are a separate piece printed on standard vinyl. I colored in his pelvis sticker with black sharpie! and reproed his cheek stickers on vinyl. But I couldn't find a bellows part for his launcher that matched the one mine came with. They were all orange at the dollar store and not an exact match in shape. So I bought two, painted them and ditched the actual popy piece. Sacrilege, I know. Here's the before auction picture:
