I personally love the ES Gokin line. I love having a sharp detailed SD version of a mech next to his larger scale realistic brother on the shelf. I'm silly like that. In my experience (I've bought Reideen, Gaiking, Tekkaman Blade and patiently awaiting Mazingers) and their quality, detail and paint apps are spot on. Lots of accessories also. They're ridiculously poseable too for their size. Diecast is light but I feel like the right amount given size and balance to make them stand. And they also all include stands that can interconnect. Unless you don't like the "SD look" I highly recommend this line!!!

I've not had any QC issues with any of the ES Gokins that I've owned (and I've owned just about all of them with the exception of Jeeg, Godom, and Getters 2 and 3). They've consistently had excellent paint and joints, and fairly good amounts of diecast heft for their size. Mazinger has diecast in his chest, legs, and feet, just like an SOC would. Really the only place they consistently lack diecast is in their giant heads, which is appropriate because filling those enormous noggins with metal would mean a balancing nightmare and a lot of wobbly, loose neck joints.

^ +1 on this, how's the diecast on the two? I'm on the fence with the ES line. I really don't know if I should start collecting this line or not... something seems off for me. Gold It's the same for me. I don't know whether or not starting to collect it. The prices are not that high, the figures have a nice sculpt and good articulation + enough gimmicks to satisfy the buyer. BUT the QC is not really great I've heard, as it often seems to happen with Fewture products, the metal content sometimes is unjustifiably low (for figures this size), and I'm not digging the SD look that much I'm on the fence too, but I've decided I'll make the final decision after ES Gokin Godmars comes out. Most of the ES Gokin line have 70% of diecast, thats from body to the leg, and the only problem I have with this line is in one figure, baikanfu, the screws in the dummy figure (which u use if u dont want to put the other two robots in the bigger ones)is rusted, which is not a problem, the screw it can be replace.. To me the best in this line is this maz combo and the gaiking trio, pure awesome, and the poseability is comparable to SRC or even better (stability)

Mmmm I just went to a toy store nearby today, and saw these 2 beauties exposed! I thought they were a bit bigger, but they'd fit right in the palm of my hand And despite their size, they're really well detailed and posable indeed. I've made my choice, I'll get them! sooner or later...

Pilder comparison with DX SOC mazinger I have all the Es gokin and I'm surprised you think the maz's area best. Don't get me wrong I like em a lot, but it is abundantly clear that this line went down in quality ( cost cutting I'm guessing) as it went along, not up. Meaning the earlier ones were better quality IMO. The best is the getter 1 in my opinion. Design, quality, the cape.. All so well done. Light up eyes were really nice too. It's also the highest value (rarest possibly?) if you try to find it on eBay it's like 300 dollars + The worst, is the reideen. It's hip armor falls off and no light up eye gimmick?? Terrible

Terrible To me the best toy is the one with awesome playability , complete gimmics, dont need to worry about breaking stuff, like baikanfu plus maz family is my favourite super robot.
