Is there a guide or thread out there showing how to dissemble a vintage lion voltron (specifically the lions)?
I am about to start a restoration of one, would love to be a bit more prepared before I break out the screw driver.
Thanks guys!

I assume you mean the diecast popy/godaikin/matchbox release?
I have taken the black lion apart many times it is very simple, easy and straightforward. You really don't even have to take pictures because the stuff only goes back one way with specific size screws.
As far as the arm lions and leg lions they shouldn't be that much more complicated but I would pay attention to the following areas: the firing mechanisms and springs in the arm lions, and the front leg retractors and the rear voltron leg sockets on the leg lions. They shouldn't be difficult (most popy toys aren't) but they will have specific arrangements for the spring type mechanisms.
I may have some extra arm and leg lions laying around that i could open up if i have some free time, if you need assistance.
But really, get a clean and quiet work area (flat table, with a smooth cloth or baking sheet), the proper size screwdriver, and go to work. There is really not much too them. You'll be surprised. Take a few pics with your phone or digital camera if necessary or make little scribble "instruction" sheets like I do sometimes. Good luck!

Awesome, yes its the matchbox gb-36 release. Thank you for the advice. I figured it was pretty straight forward, but always nice to have it confirmed and be on the look out for tricky parts.
Thank you for the time and advice.

I always like to sketch a picture of what I disassemble , it helps, just in case I get pulled away for a project...and as always, watch out for shooting springs !!!! It never fails, that when I take something apart, there is 1 spring that shoots off, and I didn't see where it came from, or where it shot off too......One great thing , there is many hardcore Voltron fans here to help in any way. Godd luck, and send us some pix

I think the trickiest ones are the leg ones because of the shoulder springs and its not even that hard anyways. Ive taken this figure apart multiple times. Its pretty straight forward so if u get stuck I can help out

Ill def post up pics when it happens. Right now im on the hunt for a pair of lower legs for black lion. I need a pair with minty chrome. Hard to bite the $$ bullet on a full mint set just for the legs. Waiting game begins.
Anyone happen to have a spare set of legs or a black lion with minty chrome lower legs?

I'm trying to take apart my vintage Matchbox Vehicle Voltron. After removing the screws on some of the ships, I noticed that the halves are glued. Is there any way to release the seal of the glue between the halves without breaking the toy?
