I found these sections of Provent, while searching through Home Depot, for parts for another project..And Chain bases came to mind, these are 12" by 4' long, or 24" by 4' long, they cost about 2.00 for the 12" and 4.00 for the 24" size. Now i wanted to see if they would work well for a chain base, but they are pretty thin. so i just did this qiuck to see what could be done...

First i cut it into 2 sections, ripped down some particle board, to stiffen up the base, and give me a point to attach the back. These cut super easy, and will tear if your not careful !!!! I just used a staple gun to attach the plastic base to the wood..however little bradnails or even liquid nails...again..I was just putting this together to see if it will be worth while.. I bet someone could even use it as a mold, to case thicker sections Next I just sprayed some expanding foam in it, to tighten it up even more....watch how much you use, and what type..they do make a triple expanding foam....and wow does it blow up !!!

here is the back section, I attached 2 more strips of wood, then ran 2 pieces beside those to slide down along the bottom 2, and screwed them together.. i will add some more foam to the back to stiffen it also..I didnt take pictures where I cut, to attach the bach section, but it was NOT a straight cut, i notched out for all the different angles ..i will find the left over piece, and take a picture for all to see. I figure when its all put together, you can easily add sections side by side, or make this as tall as 4" high. The wood stiffeners were cut to 1/4 " x 2" and when pre-drilled, are easy to screw together. I will add more pixs when I get more done, I think some custom air-brush work will be a great final touch..but that's a way off yet !!!

It's provent, and it will be sold in the insulation isle...its used for a vapor seal, in rafters and joist in the attic. I ened up using toooooooooooo much spray foam, and it pushed up on the mold, and made it bow in the center. But I have a new and better way, that I will be trying soon.....well so as I get the Photon Lab built !!! STAY TUNED>>>>>>>That's all Folks
