actually I think it was this one I was looking at.. doesnt look to bad, I bet its mostly dirty .. It looks like a first editon too, am I wrong? Looks like the one I had as a kid. I wouldn't say that you are "wrong" however I am not sure of the value of this one. Personally I think the toy as it is listed there is probably worth closer to $30-35 than the $80 the seller is asking for it. It has almost none of the accessories (just one missile), two of the launchers are broken and the decals are needing to be replaced. However I love that the seller says "It looks to be near mint." about the piece.. All total I would probably have to put an additional $80-100 in reproduction replacement parts to get the figure even close to being display worthy and that is assuming I can get the launcher working again.

30-35 is pretty lowball. it is missing the missile racks on the legs, and the ship is missing, but thats not so uncommon. i try to avoid jumbos that need that much work unless its a great find or price. theres no deal of the century on this one. replacing decals is a way of life in collecting. its almost a given.

missle racks, decals and the guts to the launcher are all available on ebay as recasts.. If you did it a little at a time maybe you wouldnt feel it? haha

Like I said, $80 for that Mazinga is not realistic to me.
I'm pretty sure I can find another Ver. 1 loose, C 8.5+ Mazinga for less than the $150-170 total that I would have to invest in that one if I wait and keep looking.

Well the seller got back to me and is willing to refund $20 back against the purchase price of the Mazinga I have now. That should pay for either a loose leg or a big chunk of the price of a junker if I have to buy an another V2-V3 Mazinga just for a leg. That being said, anyone have a loose V2 or 3 leg that they want to sell?

you need to start looking for a real junkbot 3rd edtion Mazinger you cant scalp the leg off of.. you may end up spending a 20-30 dollar total replacement cost..better than spending the money on a repair I think

That's probably what I'll end up doing and then just keeping the rest for spare parts.

thats a great offer! you by chance wouldnt have a few Getter Dragun buzz saw fists would you? Sorry, I do not. I had to do a little trading myself for a set to not have to buy another dragun that did have those arms.

I just swapped out the damaged leg and added his new hand (thanks again Wes) and now the figure is now nice and securely standing. As a surprise bonus, when I took the old leg off I found the sword which Mazinga had been missing (He supposedly only had one sword when I bought him) stuffed up inside of the main body of the toy wrapped up in a roll of cardboard. Weird, but now he has a new leg and two swords so I am not complaining.

I love seeing this. Santa Claus brought me one of these for Christmas in 1979, the same year I also got a Shogun Warrior Reideen and Mazinger. It was the most memorable Christmas I ever had.

Well, that is a pretty cool treasure find in the jumbo. All I normally find, is the neck hole plug Glad I could help you out with your Mazinga, it looks great.

Ditto on that, bro, my sentiments Exactly. I had only gotten the Great Mazinga ( I wanted Raideen) after Raideen was sold out quick ( the Raideen show was on tv in '77, so it was still fresh in kids minds then). I was just a sophomore in High-school back then. zozo-mag I love seeing this. Santa Claus brought me one of these for Christmas in 1979, the same year I also got a Shogun Warrior Reideen and Mazinger. It was the most memorable Christmas I ever had.
