I don't think so. I could probably solder it pretty cleanly as well, but I still have to try and take the box apart...actually don't know how easy that's going to be. Can someone take a look at theirs? Mine is packed away again, I only had I out to shoot the pic I posted for the LJN Jumbo thread.

Gettershadow, I am looking forward to seeing that video. I am glad the Maz is in such good shape, and I am glad the condor fits. I think you are right -- put the repro in the 2nd and get an original first condor.

Mr. Ginrai --
Here are a couple of photos of the open box. I have examined it and I'll be darned if I can tell how it comes apart, although I bet Bourno could figure it out. I assume that the broken contact is on the front, pointed end rather than the back flat end. The back contacts look like they would come out with a little teasing, but, if it is the front end, it will have to be disassembled. I think from looking at it that there is an inner box inside the controller that is square and has the contacts on the two walls of the box, which then fits into the outer box of the controller. Good luck with this and keep us posted as to how it comes out.

There are no screws at all in that box. It has to be glued together.

There are no screws at all in that box. It has to be glued together. maybe it could be cut apart with a dremel tool at the welds then glued back together?

Hey guys thanks so much for the pics and suggestions. Yeah I remember it not looking like it will come apart easily (or at all) either. It's not uncommon for toys to have that one shot deal assembly, i.e. once it's together it doesn't come apart, some GI Joe toys are like this. I have a pretty busy week and I will see if I have the room to dig mine out for pics and to look at it in more detail, if its too much of a project it will have to be next week. I'll also post up some detail pics of my voltron jumbo so you guys have another "original" to compare to. I have the box, sword, inserts, semi-used sticker sheet and instructions as well. My stickers are a little wrinkled from age but the bot is clean. I didn't even need to wash him when I got him, just had to gently wipe him down and he was just super nice.

When you get a chance, Ginrai, would you post a pic of his sword? I'm not sure what size sword came with this 'bot and what it looked like (I know it was the blazing sword, but I'm not sure if it was chromed plastic or that silver gray plastic). I also need to know how long it was. A pic would be helpful.
By the way, everyone, I heard from WillOhio and he does have stickers for the LJN Volton. I got them ordered.

The sword is grey plastic and is HUGE. Much bigger than the chrome one from the godaikin/matchbox voltrons. It actually has two really long thin stickers that go on it as well (they are present on mine). I'll get some pics for you guys with some of my other voltron swords for size comparison.

faulkners, From an old thread that has photo shots of some of the swords. robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=PopyJumbos&action=display&thread=16302The 16" sword looks huge compared to the 13" version for the jumbo, but it isn't as nice and clean though. Haven't seen the 16" version on ebay, but the 9-10" one is common. I have a battery box with no cover that you could have for cost of shipping that I could un-wire at the base piece. My base has a stripped gear in it, so doesn't work and is just laying around in the junk pile. If interested in a sword, I have a couple reproductions on hand. I have a photo of it in some other thread.

I am quite curious as how this 20" sword would look with the jumbo. Am getting 2 just to see ;D www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RU3932#.UG4CAK4dOao"Slice your foes in half just like Lion Voltron from the anime TV show Voltron with this plastic 20-inch long Voltron Lion Voltron Blazing Sword! This is the same blue and silver sword Lion Voltron wields in the anime TV series and manga books. Whether you're slaying robeasts or not you're going to love wielding this Blazing Sword like your favorite giant mecha from Voltron." From Rubies costumes, voltron blazing sword.

Any idea where someone can get a replacement spring for the claw hands? I hate not having a hand that can actually hold something. Any experiences? Places I could look? Ideas?
Thanks,
Rodman75

I will keep an eye out. I was looking at the springs inside the missile hand of a Mazinger I have been working on, and they are about the same length as the Voltron spring. They are a little more narrow, but I bet they would work in the Voltron. If you have a broken missile hand you could raid these springs, or there have been some for sale on ebay recently (although I don't see any right now).
