This is the one from Shin Mazinger, and apparently they will be making the King Hell mecha as well? It is soooo bought... if it is a real deal and not a custom of course! ;D }D

Yeah, the big circles don't belong, but the huge chest head and shoulder armor is pretty much spot on. Of course, the rest of the body is the same as the regular Mazinkaiser OVA version. }D

Yeah it says PRODUCT IMPORTED FROM COSMIC GROUP..maybe a small "company" customizing these?I doubt its Aoshima, they would have done a scratch figure, not add a head.Either way,Im helpless to get it,even though its not really that justifed.LOL

Anime-Export does the same thing, sort of. The had all those exclusive versions of the Getters and Mazinkaiser made just for them. The same thing may be happening with this Ankoku...

So does this mean Aoshima is back in business?

Not sure it could be a Aoshima release, a custom figure or it could be a 3rd party just making those extra parts. To early to tell with some websites jumping the gun and speculating on what it is and how much.

It does say produtti per Cosmic Group or similar,I translated oen of teh quotes and its product imported from cosmic group or product of cosmic group, sounds like a 3rd party for sure, someone in Italy got a hold of a bunch of these and is selling them with custom parts.Just think of this, would a pro company like aoshima whos been around forever release this hacked up rigged up photo example of their old toy with new resin parts stuck on it?

Sure, Bandai did it with GX-02R and does it all the time when they take an old figure then slap on unpainted resin parts of the new stuff they added to that old figure so you can see the changes granted they have a better photographer which is why I'm leaning towards this being a 3rd party like you said.

Nothing, just mentioning the old proto pics of GX-02R that had a GX-02 with resin parts of the new thighs and stomach for GX-02R, there in the SOC book.

I think Chen is referring to this photo. The unpainted parts are unpainted on purpose to showcase improvements to the sculpt and new tooling. As for the Ankoku Daishogun, I don't know... it sort of feels like a third party upgrade kit, but the price is screaming bloody murder (200 Euros for an upgrade kit??), yet the preorder page states the item to be at 25 CM. Then there's the shoddy-looking photo. It resembles something from a 3rd party reveal, not a fancy photo a big company like Bandai, Aoshima or CMs would publish to promote an item... Unless Aoshima can't afford a proper studio anymore. ;D On the wishful thinking side, maybe this might really be Aoshima's and they're trying to make a comeback, at the same time maybe there's a Shin Mazinger sequel coming??! Like I said wishful thinking. We seriously need some closure with Shin Mazinger, maybe with better story-telling this time around too. Gold

Then they need to get rid of those round things next to the chest face. The Ankoku Daishogun did not have those, or did it?

I agree. Looking at the character illustration, those don't belong there... But for those who missed the general, this is a metal brick. More then 80% cold hard metal!! It weighs a ton, a TRUE gokin. None of these, oh screws are die cast so we can list diecast as material , oh some of the joints are metal , oh part of "internal frame" is diecast: ...wussie wannabe gohkins!! Only thing I would change would be it's cape. Please use sillicon rubber instead of awful outdated PVC ....
