I don't think there's been a mid-sized SOC priced around $90 in a LONG time.

Probably GX-56 is the closest, but it really didn't have as complex a transformation with less metal but it was slightly larger in dragon mode, it was priced back then for 10,500YEN back in 2010.

so they went up $25 in three years, $8.33 per year. that is not bad.

The midsize SOCs for 90$ or near that were NOT changeable. So the Danguard is perfectly priced between a Large Combiner at 250$ and a midsize non changing figure.you cant compare this to say a Getter GX-51 or a Mazinger GX-01R.I would think it a mistake of some sort if it was priced at that range. You really cant count or compare Dangard to the GX-56 because its comprised of 2 robots.

Obviously the actual two products are totally different, that's not the point. The point is to try and find a SOC that is in the larger then your standard SOC class but smaller then many of the transforming/combining robots. There isn't many, GX-56 comes closest because it involves a transformation/combining gimmick and is slightly larger then your standard SOC such as figures like GX-01R or GX-51 with increased engineering and tooling costs. You could argue that GX-33 Leopaldon would be a better comparison with a released price of 8,190YEN but it was also released on 2006 and much has happened since then in Japan and China then simple inflation and does obscure the comparison.

The size is such a letdown. Instead of a sure buy at $200, I'm now on the fence at $125.

For $125 it would be a crime to let it pass. It's not like the market is overflowing with all sorts of Danguard Ace action figures. But yes, you're right... Bandai should've made it at least an inch or two bigger. }D

Obviously the actual two products are totally different, that's not the point. I thought the discussion was comparing the Danguard to the smaller size SOCs.And what was said was the GX-56 was the last small type SOC? Oh it doesnt matter anyhow. This Super Robot is what it is.I like it,im buying it,and Im sure most collectors will too.I have 2 Yamatos, and still m psyched about the SOc release.

Maybe we should look at it this way : if you want a big massive dangaurd ace you have to go with the yamato , while if you want to go with a smaller and cheaper with probably higher level of engineering you could go with this SOC I am sticking with both

Very good points gents, but undoubtedly Bandai has a different strategy for this release: 1. Keep production costs to a minimum by scaling down the product 2. Charge a bit of premium since it is a rare license item Hehe, nothing wrong there, that's how you do business these days anyway BTW, love your new sig Baron Did you paint that? That would make an awesome panoramic poster.

I am actually pretty happy about the size of GX-62. It will sit in really nice scale with my Reideen so I can recreate

Looks like it will be perfect transformation. So along with the smaller built in wheels in the chest along with the longer stabilizing wheels in the lower legs, it looks like you have the option of folding the forearms in along the lower section of the Satilizer which explains the weird articulation in the wrists or pop them off and have a cleaner look with what looks like a cover with detailed thrusters. I should also mention how I love how Bandai added little details like for the cockpit/helmet has landing gear and detailed thrusters in the back, brilliant.

Should be very soon. The major online stores usually start taking pre-orders 3 months before the product is released.
