Would Amiami be cheaper than BBTS? I'm trying to benchmark with DX Mazinger, but Amiami and Robotkingdom don't even offer it; well, I can't find it on their website. I do not think that Robotkingdom ever offered the DX SOC Mazinger. AmiAmi did offer it but only on its Japanese site, and after looking at the price, BBTS offering is less expensive. As for Danguard Ace, if AmiAmi offers it to western customers, then chances are that it will be less expensive than BBTS.

Is the main reason people order from BBTS is because its in the USA?Because I dont understand it.Their prices are always higher and they get their stuff way after the release date.So what is the reason?I only order through them if they have a clearance item,or if there is no other preorder which doesnt request money ahead, like I ordered the DX Mazinger from BBTS.That was a RARE exception for me.Are alot of you guys worried to buy overseas or something? Im in NY and I always get my stuff EMS from Japan and its here in 3 days.I get it when its still"hot"and also for good preorder prices {AMIAMI} so what is the draw to BBTS?I cant see it,please educate me guys.

BBTS is very good at customer service. Got a broken toy out of the box? They gladly ship you a new one or gladly swap parts for you if broken parts are removable. Thats one thing. They also ship 'pile of loot', so if you order from them often, you can add up a lot of items into one shipment, with only adding a few bucks each. A number of years back, BBTS used to have a cheap flat rate shipping, and their prices are also more competitive than they are now.
Their Japanese toys are a bit overpriced nowadays, but their 12" figures are still quite competitively priced. Since they are very nice, it helps for old customers to go back and make purchases with a peace of mind, given if the price is right, or if such item can't be found anywhere else. I still buy from them from time to time.

I haven't ordered from overseas yet for a few reasons: 1. There is the scare of unknown tariffs 2. Overseas shipping is so high that it more than makes up the difference in list prices. The USD is so weak that overseas prices aren't as attractive either.

Yes but in this hobby its unavoidable, unless you plan on not getting 60% of the items you want to buy. There is just to many robots not ready available here in the States. My collection would be WAY smaller if I didnt order overseas.I have never once had any special tariff taxes on any robot Ive purchased ever, and the prices you pay for imports here, are certainly inflated.Id rather pay higher shipping, which in the end isnt all that much, than have to wait for items to arrive in uS online stores only to pay basically the same amount or more. But everyone has their own ideas I guess. BTW guys thanks for the replies on why to buy from BBTS,indeed non robot toys or 12" items are a reason if you collect them, and the customer service thing is indeed nice. But ive never recieved a broken toy from overseas yet,but if it were to happen i can see where it would be beneficial.I also do like how they have a ton of clearance stuff, but never seems to be anything I want LOL.For me there is just too much outweighing purchases for me. EMS gets me my items in 3 days from Japan, and I get them as released,no inflated import costs, and shipping is what you pay for.I always want the fastest EMS shipping so I do pay for it.But I choose too. It would be great if US stores got in their products 3 days from release from Japan, but that never happens its freaking months for some reason.

I think every store slowly gets their own niche market among collectors: Amiami - great discount from the get go on almost all new releases, but sold out super fast. Anime Export - next runner up on price, but smaller collection, need to pay up front. HLJ - probably still many's favorite. If you missed out on Amiami, go here But you'll find a lot of modeling parts and accessories you don't normally find at Amiami. Hobby Search - If HLJ is also out, search here. Nippon Yasan, Big In Japan, Tokyo Hunter - Got to get that Tamashii Exclusive. Toywave, Angolz, ishop2go - HK based shops that may still have the sold out item you want. BBTS - US based, great customer service, pile of Loot, price on 12" is good, but a little pricey otherwise. If all else fail...Evilbay. ;D If that fails too, Yahoo Japan here I come. Getting back on topic, lets see who will have the best price on Danguard Ace.

Thanks for the informative post MPChi.
I now mostly use AmiAmi. I used to HLJ and before that BBTS. I might give Anime Export a try one of these days for their "preowned" SOCs.

Baron, I totally agree with what you say. Good to know that robots haven't been getting hit with tariffs.

Thank God the line is still alive! And thank God I won't have to buy the overpriced partsforming Yamato version!

Im planning to purchase the soc Danguard but Im also still looking for the Yamato to show up in a good deal. I like how it looks, the colors and how large it is. I dont think the Yamato is going to be more of a partsforming than the soc to tell you the truth.

Pretty sure the SOC version will have little to no partsforming unlike the Yamato version. Bandai always tries to go for a perfect transformation. They will more than likely include extra parts to make both modes more accurate if preferred like they've done in the past.
