I was told to keep this confidential until SDCC was over. So now I get to share the story! Frank at Super 7 contacted me on here asking for my file on a scanned copy of the 1979 Alien box. I had opened up my old Alien box that was in pretty bad shape and hired a graphic designer to clean it up. Frank told me "Super7 has signed a license with FOX to produce ALIEN/ALIENS merchandise. One of the toys we will be releasing will be packaged in the old KENNER style package. After 33 years, no one at Fox has any such files (no shock there)." I was several hundred dollars deep into the restoration of the box: Purchasing the box, Use of a drum scanner (because of the large size) and then hiring a graphic designer to clean it up. I told him I was not interested in cash, but would trade for the digital file. I wasn't able to get in on the Stormtrooper Super Shogun, but would love to get in on the Boba Fett Super Shogun or a Stormtroop that may be stashed away. He instantly replied "Sounds good to me. I can definitely understand the effort put in to such a project…both as a collector and a pro. I will scrounge up a STORMTROOPER for you – please let me know where to send". A few days later check what I got! I helped a toy company! Feels good man.

Great story! Good for you taking box art serious and being a reference for toy production.
Having met and yapped with Frank at a couple NYCC events, like a lot of collectors, I'll agree, a good guy. Cares about the hobby, and yes, very aware of the toy scene, and who's who on the boards.
The shogun missiles they've had out are really good pieces too.

Thanks guys! The whole thing was great and really exciting to be apart of. I know I didn't "do" anything but it made me feel good to help out and get a cool figure out of it. tl;dr Frank at Super7 is an awesome dude!

No matter how you acquire this fine specimen, it is one of a kind....... .....who'd ever thought a Star Wars character would become a jumbo machinder and play like such? (firing fists!) ....a jumbo machinder Stormtrooper, an amazing feat all by itself. Later on down the road these would become hard to get, pricey, and perhaps even rare once they've reached the end of their production line. If ya have this specimen, be proud. zozo-mag
