Ok, so I just got the 20th anniv. DVD of Transformers THE MOVIE. I checked out the Bonus Features and delved into "Sneek Peeks". In there was a section for the G1 DVD Trailer. So, I thought, "Cool. This must be a trailer to attract newbies to TF G1..." So, I'm watching the trailer and at the end it said something about coming 2007... ...I was like wtf!! They're releasing it again? Just when I thought Lucas was a pain in the arse by releasing Star Wars repeatedly in a "slightly" different version except the version you want, it looks as though he's got competition. Does anyone have any concrete news to back up my theory? Or is this assumption of mine true?

As I understand, this release is being put out by Sony BMG which now has the rights for the TV shows. Rhino I believe no longer owns the rights to the G1 TV shows.
So it is not so much as a re-release of the shows as a new release from another company. It will be interesting to see how this release does and how it is packaged in comparison to the original release from Rhino.

Ah, that makes sense. Hmmm. I'm sure they will correct the sound and color as they did the movie. Hmmm....the question is, should i buy it all over again. (sigh)....
