The guys at TFW2005 has acquired a prototype replica of G1 Swoop. There is a possibility that an unofficial release in the future. Thanks to TFW2005 for the news, especially to Super_Megatron for posting the pics.

Very cool! Being that the original is always hard to find in good shape, this is very good news.

Yeah, that has to be the WST Swoop, not a reissue of the G1 Swoop. The arms don't look like they can extend and the legs just don't look right.

Upon closer inspection, I think you guys are right. WST it is, then. Oh well...There go my dreams of getting G1 Dinobot reissues...

using the keyboard as a scale looks like a full sized piece but maybe its a two up WST?
I remember reading about an upcoming swoop WST so most likely this is it.
Of course though, we want reissue real dinobots. I assumed that the reissues that were done were from old moulds and not from resculpts. Takara tomy would probably have a hit if they did reissue the dinobots, forum after forum they seem to be the most wanted.

WST I'm so very tempted to get them. But the size bothers me enough. How can Takara not see that their losing money on this.. was takara the original designers for Dinobots? or were they liscenced like jetfire?

they are takara designs for sure, they started out as diaclone dino robo and were slightly modified for the TF release, eg swoop didnt have the bulbous safety beak, grimlok had sharp teeth and snarl had sharper tail spines!

using the keyboard as a scale looks like a full sized piece but maybe its a two up WST? That's what I was thinking, until it popped into my head that it's a laptop keyboard, which can be a bit smaller in scale compared to desktop ones. Now I'm really not sure. Anyone else notice that there seems to be quite a bit of this figure missing? From scrutinizing all the pics it looks like the lower legs ahven't been completed, nor the upper arms (which is why they don't look like they can extend). Also it doesn't look like any of it is actually held together yet (in the last pic you can see the metal torso is seperate from the arms and the legs). Not that this helps determin where this item is coming from in any way, just my observations.....

ah, a laptop, so could well be WST. Takara needs to get of its butt and get the fans some more reissues!

The reissue line, sad to say, is probably dead for now. The keyboard seems to be that of an IBM Thinkpad (Thinkpads are quite small). You can actually see the fingerprint reader under Swoop's left wing.

thanks for the info man then whats the problem?? Are they worried about over saturating the market with reissues?
WST looks so good so tempting... But having it that small bugs me.
