The other day, while staying over at my parents house, my 4 yr old son, found my old Voltron, the y&k diecast issue...however he is missing his 2 small lion heads, and sword. Question 1, does anyone make repro lion heads that shoot ? Question 2, I seen some diecast voltrons that shoot missles, but it seems my issue didnt ? did any of the vintage ones shoot ? I see a tiawaan model that selling on ebay, it's diecast, and a combiner, but comes with missles. is it a good one to buy for kids, or is it junk Well any help will be a blessing, I'm not familiar with voltron toys...although I played my like crazy...but heck that was 1981/82

There is an Asian seller that makes repros but I don't know how good they are. Depending on what version you have I may have some extra heads but they are real versions and they don't run cheap.
You may have a matchbox version. Look at the teeth on all the remaining lions and look for holes on the black lion shoulders and on the center backs of the blue and yellow lions. If there are no holes or firing buttons you have a matchbox. Also the teeth will look like rounded caps on matchbox versions, popy and godaikin have sharp curved teeth like a real lion. It's VERY noticeable.
Only popy, godaikin and KO shoot missiles and heads. The matchbox versions don't fire any thing except the heads and all the firing mechanisms and buttons have been removed or the mold in those areas has been revised to be closed up.
I don't trust the Taiwan ones. They are cheap, but you can't guarantee they don't have lead. They have been making them since the original golion and voltron came out and are still making the KOs today. Colors are slightly different as well. Missiles and weapons are same style as popy/godaikin but come on plastic parts trees instead of a package.

Thank you, I think mine is a Matchbox version, but I can see holes for the firing button, on the yellow lions back and 2 ear shooters, the blue lions back pops up, but there nothing there that looks like it could shoot, the head pulls up, and has 2 holes, one for a missle and one for the firing pin(thats not there). And the Black lion doesnt seem to have any holes for firing pins, or any missles ?? and his teeth are just rounded ....So I would guess, that matchbox used the mold, and removed all the goodies..... Well how much for the 2 small lion heads ? It never hurts to ask...Pm me Thank you
