I can't imagine that there is a better kit out there than this. Incredible articulation, fun to put together, durable, poseable, die cast pieces, incredible design. Worth every penny. And he uses katanas!!!
Thoughts? If there is better id like to know. I've only made one gundam model

That bit about the die-cast pieces got my attention. Are they being used in the frame to add stability and durability?
Never knew PG Gundam kits have metal pieces. Interesting.

Do not have much experience with it. I know I like its size and its look. Pretty expensive piece. Sadly I don't have the time I would like to build it proper else I would buy it. Wish it was done in a Metal Composite or Metal Build

Yea the pg red frame I built has a couple of die cast parts in the hip. I believe it's stability but also it's a high stress joint I think. Anyhow it was my first ever gundam model and I was just so impressed. Building was a joy , but then it's so sturdy I've been able to enjoy endless hours posing it. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Ps, it also had a light up eyes gimmick!

^ Nice! Other than the panel lining, is this an out of the box built (no additional paint and stuffs)? If it looks this nice without additional painting, I need to check this out! Never thought that you can use "so sturdy" to describe a model kit before

Never thought that you can use "so sturdy" to describe a model kit before Oh, its incredibly sturdy. Sometimes I look at it and cant believe its a model. The legs are the most incredible part. The thighs have plates that shift when the knee is bent. Even the calf area moves and shifts as you move the ankle! The sword...drool...so beautiful..I mean a Gundam with a Katana?? How can you beat that? Lol FYI, This is my FIRST Gundam kit - so you know its not difficult. Eveything snaps together solidly with no glue, no Paint. NOTE: I actually first got the MG version and a few pieces just snapped in my hands! Either invest in this PG or dont buy the red frame at all. If you do, you will not reget it.

Funny you should mention about the MG astray. Mine broke too, at the shoulder joint to ne exact. Bandai snap kits are usually real simple to do. The hard part has always been the painting. I've had a couple of MGs break while posing them, but they are usually quite sturdy in general.
No chance for me to get the PG Astray. Not that I don't like it, just too much time required for the build.

Not that I don't like it, just too much time required for the build. It didnt take that long to build, and to be honest, the building was the most fun part. I never knew snap-together design was so advanced these days. Lastly, Its about enjoing the drive as much as it is the destination. When you pay that much for a model, you WANT weeks/months of fun dont you? I didnt rush, I sat back and did a little bit a day. I paneled the pieces, took the nubs off, then snapped them together. I only did an hour or so here and there. I donty think Ill ever build another gundam model, not becuase it wasnt fun, but because I dont think there is another gundam model out there as good as the PG astray.

That review makes me realize that I DEFINITELY do not have enough time That review looks intimidating, but again Ive never made a model before - Im a first timer and the process was really easy. There is even an english PDF version of the instructions if needed, but you can do without. If you look at it as trying to make this in a week, yea its crazy. But if you look at it as weeks or months of enjoyment, then its actually a great experience.
