just wondering, i have a MP 01 first issue that i am thinking of selling and want to know if i should keepit or not. i know that the first issue of MP 01 has the best paint job and also much fewer QC problems so keeping it in MIB will worth somthing later on. i know that MP 04 has some paint problems. What about the MP 01 reissues? and was there ever a MP 01 at all?
thanks.

Yeah, I agree with Lord Zarak, keep the Mp01, the reissue has some QC problems I think(I overheard someone talking about it while I was in a store, I think it was the paint and the way the plastic pieces were cut out), but not as bad as the QC problems on the Mp04(misaligned windows and bad paint). Have to check very carefully before buying an Mp04(particularly the area with the Matrix switch, the paint almost always seems scratched while I was selecting mine). BTW if I recall right, there's no way of telling the original Mp01 from the reissue since the markings on the boxes are the same. Gold

Bump... Just thought I'd mention that I found an MP-04 at the Silver Snail in Ottawa (actually, it's been there a while, but I only got a chance to drive into downtown this weekend for the first time since before X'mas).
I just wanted to clarify for those of you who like me were going by the consistent yet somewhat vague QC complaints. Yes, mine, like everyone else's MP-04 has slightly inconsistent paint (almost chipped, but not quite). It's slightly uneven on edges - as though there should've been a second coat. But really it's minor. I CAN however, understand that for some people this is absolutely unacceptable. For me, I made a judgement call and I felt it was okay to me.
Some day I'll work up the nerve to retouch the silver parts with a dab of "Citadel Colours' Mythril Silver" paint...
Secondly, yes, the front windows in robot mode are not aligned perfectly. And again, I made a judgement call - it's REALLY close - in fact, only about half a millimeter off ...I felt it was okay.
On a side note - as this has been discussed before: yes, mine has blue windows on the front... seems darker than the images I've seen on-line. It was pleasant surprise.
